Company grabs attention with largest bow cruiser on the market and all-new 35’ cruiser
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, October 30, 2014 - Rec Boat Holdings presented their model year 2015
products at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show today, with special attention on two new boats
– the Horizon 350 and Horizon 440 bow cruiser. The 440 bow cruiser, a first of its kind, was
previewed today by an exclusive group of VIP invitees sipping wine and snacking on hors d’oeuvres.
“It is a time for reinvention and that is exactly what we have done at Four Winns,” stated Roch
Lambert, President. “The new Horizon 350 takes it up a notch on our competitors with creative
features that consumers truly appreciate; and, the Horizon 440 redefines what a cruiser can be. The
reaction to both new models has been outstanding,” Lambert concluded.
Horizon 350This new model, making its first appearance at the show, turned heads with unique design and
perfectly appointed features throughout. The open bow 35’- 10’10” beam vessel is packed with
creative designs above and below deck. Boarding from the extra-large low profile swim platform,
boaters are in awe with the spaciousness of the open cockpit area. A multi-position aft lounge
provides plenty of space for sunning and relaxing, with plenty of storage, transom mounted speakers
and wide under-mount swim ladder. The cockpit features a large galley with wood finish, grill and
sink with slide out 36-quart cooler and built-in wine chiller with ice box. And, if additional cooler
space is needed, the large, basement like floor storage fits three 36-quart coolers. For seating
comfort, the Horizon 350 provides plenty with port side double rotating companion seat and doublewide
helm seat with rotating passenger seat, and electric, adjustable driver seat. The large open bow
area features double forward facing seats with armrests, large molded in cooler under the front seat
and full wrap around hand rails. Don’t mistake the Horizon 350 for just another day boat. Step
below and enter into a spacious cabin with all the amenities you’ll need including a fully enclosed
head featuring a vacu-flush toilet, large linen storage and sink with pull-out shower. Topping off this
craft is a full fiberglass hardtop and convertible canvas sun roof. Shade the cockpit with the optional
retractable sun shade, which covers the entire cockpit area. The Horizon 350 is powered with twin
engines from either Volvo Penta or Mercruiser ranging from 600-860 horsepower.
Horizon 440 Bow CruiserNever before seen in the marine industry – until now – the Horizon 440 bow cruiser is more than
expected in a boat…cruiser amenities and styling in an open bow boat. Four Winns designers have
developed the perfect solution to a day cruiser. Engineering in significantly more useful space by
opening up the bow, this new boat will satisfy the most discerning customer looking for the perfect
boat to entertain family and friends.
“We challenged the design team to look at a typical 43’ cruiser style boat and find a way to create
more useful space,” stated Christophe Lavigne, vice-president of Engineering and Design for Rec
Boat Holdings. “The front of the boat, with limited useful space above deck, became the obvious
target for innovation. The result is the open bow concept that does not sacrifice the living space
below deck,” Lavigne said.
You must start in the bow on the Horizon 440, its most unique feature. Large enough to hold your
kid’s soccer team, the bow is packed with storage, built-in cooler, plenty of seating including extralong
lounges and a hydraulic table that rises from the floor, eliminating the need for storage. For the
sunny afternoons, an optional sun shade provides protection while island hopping through the
Bahamas. A JL Audio 5-speaker sound system provides the perfect party lounge. The cockpit of the
Horizon 440 is patterned after the legendary Vista series from Four Winns providing plenty of room
to move around and entertain. The rear, U-shaped seating area delivers plenty of seating room and
entertaining is a breeze with the full refreshment center housing a refrigerator, icemaker and sink.
Optional cockpit air conditioning is available for the warmer climates. The captain of the new
Horizon 440 is well equipped with IPS controls, double-wide companion helm seating with electric,
6-way adjustment for the driver. The aft area of the boat is a true outdoor living room, with a grill,
sun lounger and large swim platform.
When your family is ready to stop for the night, move down below to a very cruiser-esque cabin area
featuring a full size head with separate shower, open galley area and comfortable sofa with 40” TV.
You can bring all your friends along with plenty of sleeping room featuring a queen size bed, aft
cabin and forward berth.
The Horizon 440 bow cruiser is powered with Volvo Penta IPS twin 500 or 600 horsepower.
