Just a heads up for you guys.....

The folks at http://www.midwestboatparty.com have their big fall party scheduled for September 12th - September 14th.

For some of you this is a great invitation as this is a great time. For others of you this is a warning!!!!

Our child will be shipped to Grandma's house as this will be trophey wife central. These women have spent as much on their bodies as we have on our boats and damnit they want to show them to the world. It's a great time just wouldn't suggest bringing the kids.

Mike, this would be another time where I'm allowed to go but simply reach for the camera and I'm in trouble.

Trophy wives? At Perry?

Might have to learn to launch by myself...

Hey, even little leaguers get trophies. So maybe it's a sliding scale...

Well Mike seeing that half of the action comes from your neck of the woods what are you saying? I've decided this weekend I'll make some important phone calls while on the boat with my "camera phone"........cause you know......business is business.

I'd have to say, once I found the right area to be in Perry can rival a slow day down in TXjole's neck of the woods.

The cove behind the east bridge I assume?

I think most of the trophies from my area can be found at LOTO ;)

You are correct sir!! And I'll let your wife and mine know your opinion on where the hottest wives can be found.

Sounds like it could be worth the tow from Smithville. Where's the nearest launch to said party cove?

There are multiple lunch places depending on when and where you want to go. The Lake Perry Marina is very close and also has a Resturant and Marina. It's where I'm located and right around the corner. Just head from KC and turn north at the town of Perry. You can also search for the Slough Creek ramp as well.

Looks like a great time, expecting dozens of boats so far. I think MWBP has about 400 members.

Hey Mike (EDIT....er, ah, Marc)
Thought you were headed to Perry this weekend? I waved at you on Smithville Sun from my buddies H170, but didn't want to bother ya. I put mine in the water Sat after getting it back from the shop.... still no forward gear! Luckily they were still open so I got it back in. They'll know more this week. At least the lake was too crowded to enjoy

I was on Perry all day yesterday but didn't see anyone else here... including Marc ;) . The lake was as rough as I've seen it in 40+ years - really bad. And ended the day by towing a guy in from a long way away; family of 5 and their two dogs in a 15' aluminum jon boat with a 40hp 'Rude that ran out of gas. Way too many people for that much boat, especially in those conditions; the stern of the boat was only about 8" out of the water. It was a good 45 minute tow at least, making dead slow progress in those conditions. As we entered the marina a flock of 100's of gulls took off from one of the dock roofs - creating a shower of bird crap we couldn't avoid. Good thing we plan a cleanup at the ramp after every outing. Nice people, kept trying to give me money which of course I'd have nothing to do with. Beautiful sunset during the tow, anyway :D .

Don't know what anybody is talking about. We were out there Thursday night, Friday Night, Saturday all day, recovered a little yesterday and were only out for about 6 hours and then today the boy had a fever so we stuck at home.

Mike, yeah it was really rough......wind and just a lot of boats. Spent my time in the back of the cove with the other 150 boats. Got some great pics as soon as I can edit them for content.

The big midwest boat party is two weeks away.

I'm planning on going to Perry on the 12th. Wished I would have recognized you, I hope I at least waved back. We were out Sat. and Sun. with Sunday being the better of the two days as far as lake conditions and boat volume goes. Sorry to hear that your boat wasn't right when you got it back, I thought that was very fast turn around from the shop. I sure hope they get it right for you this time. After Perry we'll still try and get out on Smithville till mid-Oct. if at all possible.
