Ok, I've been reading this forum long enough. Finally got a username/password and here I am. I am in NE Georgia. Where, trust me, it's been COLD! I wish I lived where it's a little warmer. But to tell you the truth, my kids are at the age where they're taking up so much time on the weekends that I still would have no time to take the boat out!!! Here is how this Saturday went... 15 yr old at a swim meet all day (mama took him) and a 12 yr old at a wrestling tournament all day (I took him to that). That's been my life since Tgiving. Before that it was football, and yes swimming.

Calling for snow/sleet tonight!

March/April can't come soon enough!

Lets see, next weekend is a cruise from Daytona Beach to St Augustine for the weekend, Weekend of Feb 6 is the Gasparilla Pirate Invasion of Tampa, weekend after that is a cruise of St. Johns river, over night at Hontoon State Park.... guess us Florida guys will boat extra in memory of y'all yankee boaters...

Sorry could resist rubbing a bit

We'll be in Englewood Fl. from Feb. 15 to Mar 14. Will you be cruising any place near there?

We are on the west coast all the time. Are you towing the boat down from Ohio?

The club has a Captiva Cruise on the calendar for Mar 14. The weekend before that (Mar 6-8) is the Orange Cup Regatta, a APBA race here in Lakeland. I'll be out on the water all weekend there as a safety boat. Nothing like having race boats zipping off your bow 200 ft away at 100+ mph! You may want to head up to Lakeland that weekend.. the Regatta is a ball. I have ben manning a safety boat at that race for the bast 8 yrs.

We have a few restaurants we go to now and again in Venice, just north of Englewood. Our last cruise to Ft. Myers we launched at Laishley park Municipal Marina just south of Englewood. We can definitely plan something.

No, Were not towing our boat down, just escaping the snow for a month. Good friend keeps a boat at Burnt store Marina, we are going to mooch off of him for some water time. I'll have to look into that Lakeland weekend. Thanks for the information.

It's better than negative temp's, but not all that warm in Atlanta today.

I did not see a Southern California weather update posted here. We have been in the high 80's and low 90's for over a week now. 8)

Javlich: Just reading treads and noticed you have a club trip to Captiva in March, what location on the Island? South Seas Resort or Tween Waters? We hit Sout Seas at least twice a month.

Well, since we can't fast forward to July thought I would flash back...

Here's what I was doing on July 24 at 12:07pm. As I remember, it was 82 degrees. Right now it's 23.

Who says you can't boat in the cold? This is last February 22 out of Port Sheldon, Michigan aboard the Andy Milne, a 1938 44' converted tug. You just need tougher skin (steel works pretty nice)! A toddie or two help, also!

I too am growing tired of the cold and am jealous of those still boating this time of year...both in the southeast, west and deep south. No signs of it warming up here in the Northeast....and I am being careful what I wish for as I am still waiting for my new baby to arrive. That said, even if it was warm enough to be on the water, I would be stuck on dry land.
