That's why we didn't go; we saw something on the news last week about the fact that it was going to be a very small show (big surprise there). The real question is, did they drop the price of admission to 1/3? :)

Actually, I got 2 free tickets from filling out a survey at last years show. Three of us went this time, and we only had to buy one ticket. Technically, we did get in for 1/3 the price this way. Though I feel robbed about the show, I did pick up a few reels for about $15 each.

Im kinda in the same boat... small business owner and just alittle.... ok alot skittish on the "economy". If I would stop watching the news I might be better off. I dont want to be a 2 boat owner. Seems like the older I get (44) the less risk I am willing to take. I mean hell beck in 01 we were a 2 house owner for 11 months.......

Looks like I will be a 268 owner for another year. Not that we dont love the boat... we do, but a 318...... would be perfect for us.

So for now Cougar Ill just look at pics of yours.......

A 268 is the next boat for us, and we are putting it off for a few years. We can't afford to be a 2 boat owner. Maybe when Cougar upgrades again you buy his, and I'll buy yours :).

How about a 2000 268 for about 1/2 the $'s of the 2004 shown ? Not as tight of a squeeze.

Guys, I skipped the show for those very reasons-once I heard about cutbacks I wasn't wasting my money. We go almost every year, but not this time. Do you guys do the true "Boat Show" down at Bartle? If so, maybe we should arrange to meet up down there since we've been threatening to get together to meet in person for awhile now.

Great idea, Paul. I don't even know when the boat show is, and it's hard to make definite plans until it's closer. But it's a possibility.

Thanks for the post. That's actually the first I've heard of all that. I just got an E-mail from Villiage marina about the Overland Park boat show. I may or may not hit the "other" bartle show. I've been seeing the Sports show as having about as many boats as the actual Boat show anyhow. I'm gonna wait to decide until I know that local dealers will be there.

Some good deals at that dealer!

Obama wants everyone who can afford it to buy a boat. Boost the economy!

Imagine how many sets of fingers are involved in building a boat. From the parts suppliers to the builders to the shippers to the dealers to the kids at the gas dock that fill your boat up. Lots of jobs... Oh - and the bankers who take your money. The money your wife spends at Target for "boat supplies". Oh, and not to forget Nordstroms for those must-have sunglasses. It's a huge cycle!

We figured it was the best thing that we could do to support the economy!

If I see more posts like this, I WILL delete them. I have a few other boards out there and I am so tired of political pandering. New rule no politics. period. not cougars post - but argumentative like boatlover's post.

Has anyone decided about going to the KC Boat Show yet. The dates are getting close. Next weekend and the following weekend. I looked at the exhibitors list and it appears that their are 6-8 dealers singed up all but one local. None of them are Four Winns Dealers.
