AAA Insurance - everything else, no boat insurance offering

Currently shopping around for something that will cover everything.

Hmmm.
We have AAA for Boat, Cars, Snowmobiles, Scooter and Home. Their total package was significantly cheaper than Allstate, which we had for 4 years, and they also blew St. Farm's rates right out of the water. Strange they don't offer the same coverage across the pond.

Capn' I was one of those who had EVERYTHING with one agent for the longest time and found out I could get better coverage at a better cost if I split some of my stuff up. It does pay to shop around.

Good point Dave. We did that at first for the boat and snowmobiles. Shopped around for the best rate. Then after a few years shopped again, and found the "package deal" with AAA was best. But, when we see a rate increase on anything, we will be shopping again.

Thanks for all the input.

I ended up going with Progressive. For about $20 a month with a $250 deductible I felt being reasonable for being 25 years old. Plus they have my auto insurance.

We couldn't save any money through any other agencies due to not owning a home, we have our renters policy through Nationwide, however they were quite expensive.

BoatUS yacht policy. Very expensive on the face of it, but the premium goes down every year as long as you have no claims. Mine is now down to the point where it's hardly any more than anyone else.

I refuse to do any business with Progressive due their political ties.

I use Anchor Marine Underwriters. When I bought the Vista I found out that there is a real big difference in the boat policies that someone line State Farm and others can offer and what a real boat/yacht policy offers. These guys insure most of my friends that fish tuna 50 miles offshore, the rates are great and the service is second to none.

I've asked three different people about insuring my boat through them over the past couple of years with no luck and haven't seen anything online about it. I've had our other insurance through them for 6 years and find the rates fair, I would just prefer to have everything under 1 policy. If you get a chance and talk to an agent would you mind asking what the deal is with WI boat coverage?

My wife and I just bought a 2008 V288 and the best quote and coverage we got was through Charter Lakes Yacht Insurance. 1-888-879-2248. Talk to April They specialize in marine insurance.
