I've been super impressed with Bruce up at Phil Dill - he runs the service department and I've called him direct on a few things. I also tend to go through my salesguy (Nathan) because I figure he might be able to work it a bit for me.

I hope they take care of you. So many dealers forget the old saying:

"Sales sells the first one, service sells the rest."
This statement not to be used without the direct permission of Brent87LT1.

I always say "Sales sells the first one, service sells the rest."

Yep, thats the place. There are several dealers in the metro area that I could work with, but its all a matter of convenience. I called Legend Marine and spoke to a guy there. He said all he needed to do was check with Volvo on something and would call me back later that day. I never heard back from him.

There is a dealer just north of my dealer that I probably should have tried. I figured I will give it one last shot. This time though, I made my expectations very clear up front. They agreed, so if they cannot live up to it, they know I wont be back.

Steve - I know Phildill isn't the cheapest place in town to have work done on your boat, but they have always taken care of me and I've had my share of issues. Most of them minor. If there is something you feel they are not addressing and you've brought it to their attention, I believe you can call their number and leave a message directly for Phil. Also, he's up there most days and I'm certian he would take the time to talk with you. Of course take your boat where you feel most comfortable, but just wanted to let you know that so far, they've taken care of me.

Well, my salesperson is long gone from there. Sort of a shame too, I really liked him. Remember, I am in the car business, so I appreciate a good demo and product knowledge. I have had 1 contact with Bruce and it was him trying to bump me for something in labor. I was very polite and reminded him that they had my boat for about 7 weeks and had me already drive there to pick it up once. He was trying to charge me labor for the Corsa system because it didnt seem to work right. Well, since they found nothing wrong, he wanted to charge me for looking at it. I simply told him I would pay my maintenance bill, and that was it. He agreed and we moved on. Greg is my advisor and he really is a nice guy. Somehow though, they seem like they have no ability to multi-task in the service department. Its a one track facility and I guess maybe their service department is not large enough to support their customer base. At any rate, I dropped it off yesterday when service was closed. I left a VM for Greg yesterday to call me and make sure he got his hands on the boat. He did, and he said everything looked like they could stay on track for it being ready on Thursday. We will see how that ends up. My hopes are to pick it up at noon on Friday.
