Boy, that water sure looks clean compared to Lake Lewisville, doesn't it? Looks like a good time - I'm determined to trailer out there this summer. I would absolutely love to have a place on that lake.

Oh yeah - cute pooch! :D

Yeah, the water is night and day compared to Lewisville. We love that lake. Has many similarities to Lake Travis and Table Rock (On a much smaller scale). Still looking for a good place to stay out there. This time we stayed at PK lodge, which sounds nice but it's actually a bunch of Mobile's and other misc, buildings for rent. The one we stayed in she told us was newly renovated. Let me preface my next comment by saying neither my wife or I are snobish, but it was very close to our limits of acceptability. We stayed at the Cliffs resort last year and their facilites are very nice, they have a very nice marina. Couple of problems though if you are staying as a boater and not a golfer. The marina is about a mile or two from the place your staying. You can't leave your trailer in the marina parking lot (to small) so you have to bring it all the way to the front of thier property (about 5 miles from the marina) and slips are first come first serve all the time. So if you stay out late and come back to full slips you can see the problem.

From Ft. Worth it would be about an hour and a half depending on which part of the lake your going to.

Dont let the water color fool you. That is some of the most mineral filled water in Texas. It will turn a SS prop white in half a day. My borther-in-law has a lake front house on Hog Bend. Heres a nice place to stay, if you use the ramp right across the street is a LONG haul to the gate but if you trailer down the road to the state ramp you pass on the way in your real close.

I really noticed that this time. I had to take a green scrubbie and some soapy water and clean my ss prop up. It had gotten a film of chalky residue on it. I'll keep that place in mind for next year. Any ideas about a good place to stay on Lake Travis? Need 2 slips and a place for 4 adults to sleep.
