Well, went out Sunday (on Winni) for what was intended to be a last ride. Have a last outing plus get ready for winterizing (get the tanks pumped out, so I can winterize........).

We got out late and missed the marinas being open .... and no surprise that the free pump-out at Meredith town docks was all closed up for the season. Oh well............

Had a nice time out. the lake was like glass and we spent the evening at Guiseppe's in Meredith, listening to various live music artists (Sunday is open mic night). Was a "cool" ride back to the launch, but we were ready for it. All bundled up and staying behind the windshield ... wasn't bad at all (didn't bother unpacking and putting the canvas up). Clear skies, billions of stars, Milky-Way from horizon to horizon, Big (BIG) dipper on the northern horizon, super bright and big 1/2 moon, glassy smooth water......

Sooo .... gotta do it again, or trailer it to a marina that has a pump-out that can be used while on the trailer .......

It was 73 degrees here on Sunday, would have been a nice last ride for us. But our boat is in hibernation already. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy.

Get all the time you can in... It is going to be a long winter. Finished up winterizing our boat this weekend and had a final beer aboard her Sunday nite, with the Admiral.

After such a crappy summer, according to the 2010 Farmers’ Almanac, this winter in the US will see "more days of shivery conditions: a winter during which temperatures will average below normal for about three-quarters of the nation"

Worse if you live in Canada - especially Alberta to Quebec: Canadian Farmers’ Almanac warns that this winter’s frigid forecast offers no respite in sight, especially for provinces in the center of the country. “Colder than normal” and “bitterly cold and dry” is how the Canadian Farmers’ Almanac describes the winter in for provinces above the Great Lakes, the Plains, and the Canadian Rockies, while temperatures on the East and West Coasts will be more in line with average to normal winter conditions"

Come on, Spring!!!

It's just the way it works out for me, but I'd like to winterize later than I do. Last weekend was gorgeous. Sounds like a great time. Guiseppe's has the BEST pizza. I must have missed your phone call....

Looks like we may take a day off and splash it on Monday (Sat & Sun look rainy & cold and nothing is available on our side of the lake, to pump out while on the trailer), and head across the lake to Fay's Marina and do the final pump out. And, of course, spend some final time on the water. Maybe even take Tuesday as well and stay overnight at Fay's ... if they still have power at the slips and will let us use one of the many, now empty, ones.
