Does anyone have a recommend for insurance? Boat is a 2008 338V
I've gotten two quotes, one at $670/yr and other at $874/yr. Is this in the ballpark for what I should be paying?

This is a big subject. Be sure to investigate the differences between "agreed value" policies and "traditional depreciation" policies.

^^True. I only have mine insured for what I paid. I'm going to have to up it since I won't be able to find another one for the price I paid! Also, mine has a 5 mo. layup..

Keep us posted on how you make out with that. NBOA only wants to insure for what I paid...

It's a boat. Buy the best insurance you can get. S--T happens.

And also look into what's known as an umbrella liability policy, often available from your homeowners insurance company. These are dirt cheap policies that can act as a fallback in the event your other policies do not have sufficient coverage.

Think about it, your boat might only be worth $x. But if you hit a much more expensive boat and injured a number of passengers (your and theirs) think about how quickly the liability could rise into the millions of dollars. If your policy isn't sufficient then you'd risk losing other assets of value (like your house).
