Last night i went out with the kids. I get about 1/4 mile away from our slip and I see a jet ski and a seadoo boat, and in the middle of that I see another boat. i am guessing about 17ft, doing circles under about 1/2 power with nobody in the boat. I can only assume that the driver was in the seadoo boat because I didn't anybody in the water and I was the 3rd ( ok 4th if you count the boat with nobody inside )

WHAT TO DO????

well I had 4 kids with me so I called the Coast Guard station about 2 miles away. I stayed clear of the mess.

is there really anything else you can do????

The only thing to do is be on the look out for people in the water. It is every boaters obligation to make sure everyone on the water is safe, especially in the event of any sort of accident. Calling the Coast Guard was a great measure. Staying clear of a "runaway" boat is a good idea as well becuase if it were to collide with you, there is a whole different set of circumstances involved.

Did you stick around for the Coast Guard to arrive?

Nope! Warn others is all I can think of. Good thinking.

Nope...Maybe if not impeding with your events make sure other boats stay clear (although even that is WELL above and beyond your responsibility imho). I'm a rescue worker and I would NOT put myself at unnecessary risk for something that wasn't a (immediate) threat to human life. You did EXACATALLY what you should have done (and to be honest alot more than alot of people would have done)...
