I've always kept my boat on a rack. It's cheaper than keeping it in the water, no bottom painting required, the fee is annual so no additional cost for land storage in the winter, and if maintenance needs to be done that requires the boat out of water I don't have to pay for it to be hauled, stored, and launched. Until the day comes when I can comfortably afford a lift slip, the rack is the only way I'll go for boat storage.

It will be difficult, but not impossible to find a storage facility that will rack store a 298 Vista, consider that while shopping for your next boat.

Good point. I've already checked with my marina and they can do it. My buddy has a 30' Maxum he rack stores there. Plus the 298 I'm looking at was delivered to the broker's lot via the marina's forklift....the broker actually leases some land from my marina and he uses them for launch/recovery of the boats on his lot. But I do appreciate the input because if I hadn't thought to ask that question and they couldn't do it, then that would really suck.
