I was having some work done on my car the other day, and was talking to the mechanic about boats (he has a 30' go fast), and gasoline etc...

He shows me a bottle of Power Service (PS) Diesel Fuel Supplement Cetane Boost???

He states by adding this to his gas, if there is water in the tank, this will thin it down enough to burn it off???? Anyone have thoughts on this type of product? If it does work as advertised, would it cause long term damage in other ways?

I will admit I know little to nothing about engines, so any advice would be appreciated.

Here is a link to the product page:

We used it regularly in our Genny's where I worked. Especially in the winter time for any moisture build up in the Diesel tanks. It seemed to work fine as advertised, but no experience with this product using unleaded.

We swear by the Diesel 911 in the snowmobile groomers we operate. We've had some bad fuel with high mositure content and in a heavy winter enviroment, water is a killer. I've been happy using an Isophrophyl in my sleds with water issues. Look for that if you have water issues with the boat.
