Depends on the fridge, mine has the knob right on the front along with an LED when it has power (Norcold). I dont think the breaker on the panel shuts off the DC to the fridge on mine, I turned it off by accident once and the batteries were dead a few days later when I came back even though it was plugged in, battery switch was off so I assumed it was the fridge that drained it.

On my boat, the panel only turns off the A.C. power to the fridge only. So yes, I am adding a switch on the right side wall up high. That way i can just look to see if its off or on when off the slip.

My low level light switch, only turns on the light over the sink. Which uses too much power, so LED courtesy light are next too.

This weekend I finished installing the deck flood lights, anchor light and hailer on the arch. Installed a third bilge pump, painted the out-drive and mounted 2 switches at the helm, one to turn the deck light & one to turn on the engine compartment light that I don't have yet. Installed a third battery & charger, need to wire up the battery switch for it.

Last night I completed wiring in the third battery and added a combiner.
I found a great site to get the wire from!! http://tinnedmarinewire.com/wire/

What I thought was odd to in the battery wiring was that you could NOT switch batteries in powering the "house". The house breaker was wired to the #1 battery. I moved it to the common side. This does two things, only one switch to turn on, and now I can run the house on ether battery.
