My neighbor has a very large pool with the jacuzzi setup and he has kids that were in it everyday when they first got it installed, now he tells me that they don't go near it. It is funny to see them over at my house trying to wash my boat and asking if I have tubes and how fast does she go after I get back from a day out on the ocean also, the admiral would probably disown me if I were to sell my boat she told me it feels like a vacation when we go to Key Largo for the weekend and come back to Miami after a great weekend so the choice probably has to do with where you are boating maybe switch to a different lake to get a change of scenery and friends and see how you feel afterwards.

My wife and I threw it around for a few months and even had a few "pool guys" come out and give us some numbers. We decided against it as I knew it would be popular for just a short time. My neighbor put a pool in early September of 2009. Two years old now, they have kids that are 11 and 9 and the pool gets used once or maybe twice per week. Here in Michigan they actually drop your property value so it was an easy decision. Cottage/condo on a lake is in our future in the next few years. Plus...our marina has a pool. Yes...i drive as far as you do to use my boat.

I could see a use for that in dangerous ocean waters like parts off Australia with box jellyfish. I would laugh my ass off if I saw someone using that in fresh water.

Anyone ever get out of boating to put an inground pool in their yard instead? Did you regret it afterward? Or did you downsize your boat to help offset the pool costs? Anyone ever wrestle with this? :?:

Yep, the guy I bought my boat from did. We love going to the lake because it's away from the house and that means away from the yard work, laundry, bills, nosey neighbors, etc...

We have a small 24' round aboveground pool with a deck at the house. It's good for floating around in and drinking beer in the middle of the week when we can't get to the lake.

Oh yea, 2 1/2 hour drive to our favorite lake.
