I have the VDO auto style gauge cluster and today I was getting the boat ready to go out on Sunday and I noticed the oil temp and water temp were not working. I had previously had a problem and fixed it by wiring in a new ground. So I spent the last 5 hours with a voltmeter trying to figure out the problem. No luck and now nothing works on the dash except the night lights.
Can someone give me the link to send the cluster back for repair? I remember there being a repair shop but can't seem to find it using the search function.
Also what are my options if I want to just replace the whole cluster? Is there a way to retain the following features?
Speedo (I have the paddle wheel speedo with integrated ambient water temp sensor)
Tach
Oil press
Water temp
Voltage
Fuel Gauge
Water Depth

Anyone have a good schematic for the wire harness at the gauge cluster? I was able to locate the oil press wire by deduction and the water temp the same way.
Thanks for the help. I am so frustrated right now I need a drink.
Rob

From the FW website. They may have info on repairing.

I went the replacement route from FW. Everything was the same, but I do not have the temp.

wiring diagram http://www.cdielectronics.com/downloads ... nsDash.pdf

this company also can repair them, last time I checked it was $400 with only a 6 month warranty. On my 190 I decided to just replace the cluster with seperate gauges. it took some fab work but it turned out ok.

Remi357 can you send a pic of your dash fab job. I am going to have to do this as well and wanted to see options. I have same cluster as pictured above. So far mine still works but want my back up plan ready when needed. Man I love this forum. Lol helpful as all get out.

Thanks for the link to the wiring diagram. Using that I was able to find a bad ground and a bad 12 volt source. Spliced into each and supplied new ground and 12v and it works again.
I did buy a set of 6 gauges today and am going to replace the cluster but at least I can take my time now and do it right.

If anyone has fabricated a panel and installed gauges I would be grateful for some photos.
Thanks Rob
