Made the first trip(with the new boat) through Charlevoix and out into lake Michigan today.
The boat ran great. Makes me feel better about my purchase :D

Surprised there was not a lot of boat traffic today.

Nice scenery. Nothing like a boat trip to make you feel better.

Almost until you find out the water temp

You have to wait until almost the 4th of July before it's reasonably comfortable to get in.

You got that right! I don't have water temp gauge on the boat yet, but I jumped in Lake Charlevoix and my shrinkage gauge would guess it was about 50.

Do you know what the water temp is in west bay is at the moment?

Here's another good site for wind and water temps

And yet another I have used for years for various data, such as waves, surface temps, winds etc.

Based on the charts, it looks like right around 60 surface temp. I don't see any recent data from the buoys. My boat is at torch lake and doesn't have a temp gauge, so I usually just do the toe dip. It is very cold though. On the Tuesday night laser racing, one of the kids capsized. My coworker was on one of the safety boats. They got the the kid within 3 minutes. He was already in shock and becoming incoherent. They pulled him in safely and got him into shore to warm up, so all ends well. Needless to say, it's cold enough to get hypothermia quickly still.

I just noticed...is that the Winn house in the middle of this pic?

Holy Shit !!! My company does work in some very nice homes, one of which recently sold for $10.5 M, and another that was about the same square footage as the two Winn ones put together, but the Winn house is really quite spectacular !!
