A great example of how the trust in a solid dealer can impact brand decisions...

Four Winns makes a great boat, but they are seriously lacking in a decent dealer network. There's no real sign of a quality dealer on the west coast anymore. Some smaller shops, yes, but nobody with a longstanding track record.

I've briefly thought about calling my friends in New Hampshire and making the jump to a new Crownline 350CR....

You are right! At least for me! This dealer has 2 or 3 slips at a marina that is down the street from him. If you have a small problem, you can bring the boat into one of his slips. It beats my having to pull it and trailering it to him & back again.

How many warranty issues do you have with actual boat??? Any certified VP or Merc shop can do warranty work on the respective motor/drive/engine Bolton parts.....I personally use a Rinker Dealership since they are an hour closer. After all a VP in a Rinker is the same as any other VP.

There is a Searay dealer here in Boston. His thing is, if you did not buy the boat from me, my customers will come first. So you may have to wait to have him look at it. It's the dealer that counts!

We had a few warranty issues on boat and trailer and dealer took care of them. However, my dealer is 6 hours way in summer months. What my dealer provides us is a support for the brand regardless of how far we are a part… Every time we need assistant or issue on water they are always reachable to assist to solve the issue step by step on phone. They have sent us parts overnight to us if we need it right away… When I had a minor issue with drive they were willing to be a middleman to local Volvo service dealer if they could not resolve on phone or sending parts… When I contacted Four Winns factory and inform I was a customer of Winnisquam and looking for some information on our boat someone always call us back to satisfy our needs… I heard some people had issue from Factory does not call people back but we never had any negative experience. We feel dealer can make a huge difference... We always had a piece of mind that they can assist us and behind the brand regardless of distance. We do not feel same on cars. Boating is very special…
Four Wins community is a great place and we will keep in touch as we enjoy to share information and great memories :D

I bought my 08 used from Phil Dill in Lewisville, TX. Super dealership that discontinued the FW line for Regal and Yammies the year following my purchase. They then sold out to large chain but still offer assistance via phone...its 6 hrs from me. My local Rinker dlrshp is awesome too....they realize I too am a customer of their service department. That Sea Ray dealer attitude would be enough for me to never go there.....never have been one to watch people cut in front of me.

Rinkers is a family business just like Phil Dill was....that may have a lot to do with them having common sense...who knows my next boat could be a Rinkers since they treat me like a customer.

Congrats on the Crownline Sushi. Its been awhile since I've been on this board and only found out about Winnisquam and Four Winns the other day. According to Ryan I have the last of the great boats that FW produced. Its sad. Also to this day I still don't know of anyone that has the 8.1L 425 hp merc in an SL 262 as it was a special deal Ryan and I arranged which is a cool thing!

Crownline boats certainly look nice and the E6 is the one I would get if I were you. I think you will be very happy!

Good luck and have a safe boating season all!
