Wow... so I went jet skiing yesterday and what was at the ramp when I was launching? That red 214 funship. I talked to the dude for a minute and checked the boat out. I decided I do not want a funship there's plenty of seating room but the freeboard is insanely low. A 2ft chop would swamp that boat.

On what part of the Funship are you concerned about the freeboard? I've had mine for 12 years and use it in the ocean and some fairly choppy lakes. I've never had a swamping issue although I will say that it isn't the smoothest at cutting through chop...

Spent day working with the boy on his cardboard boat project for school. Can only use cardboard and clear packing tape.

Got lucky and got a 3/4 thick box....has to carry two people for minimum of half Olympic pool length. Still have some finishing touches. They wanted to build a pontoon, but couldn't find card board tubes big enough, so v-front with flat bottom it is.

If Mythbusters can build a boat out of duct tape, using cardboard and enough tape should work fine. http://mythbustersresults.com/duct-tape-hour

PS if it cant be fixed with duct tape, it cant be fixed....

Goto the construction store get some giant sonotubes for piling construction (big ass cardboard tubes). You can get them in 24" diameter and 12ft long. Some of those combined with thick industrial corrugated pad to build some beams and decking and you'll have yourself a party barge the whole class can get on. Half a pool and back? Crap dude, you'll be able to strap a small outboard on the back and go fishing for the day.

Went to Boston with my oldest daughter for her first Fenway Park experience in Boston, ate lunch in the Royal Rooters Club. 45 degrees, raining and windy....Happy Patriot's Day!

Today I took a sick day. Damn cold from hell. Rained like hell over night and all day. Now I have to pump out the aluminum and go play tug boat. The rain brought up the water levels and floated in some bull rush islands. If I don't get them out now, they could be here all season. Some have geese nesting in them. I could be in for some hand to neck combat followed up with a good case of pneumonia.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Happy 33rd ric.

Yeah that would a been good, the local box stores only had small ones..12 inch......not big enough being overall length is limited to 98 inches and width 46 I believe. It has to carry 300 to 400 lbs. We used two 40"x40" really thick boxes and added a separate 17" cone for the bow. We are adding two bilges, which will be oatmeal cartons. I figure separate pods would be good in case of icebergs.

Thanks!

Doing the final touches at work for a trip to Colorado Springs next Monday to Sunday. Installing a VoIP server at a new office for one of our customers. Flight and rental suv are booked, but having issues finding a decent hotel that isn't a HoJo. My trip budget is pretty large paid for by the customer, so there's no need to be cheap on the lodging.

I ended up getting a suite at this place called Hotel San Ayre. Looks bad ass on pics and has 5 star reviews everywhere. I love mom/pop hotels they make you feel at home. A little far from where I work (30 min drive) but it's right next to Red Rock and Garden of the Gods. Has a small kitchen so I don't have to eat junk food all week.

Boat situation is solved! One of my buddies recently acquired a 1999 Chaparral Signature 240 in a business deal and it's just sitting in storage. We made a deal, he said if I paid dock fees at my marina it's mine to use. So for $150 a month I get to use the pocket cruiser that I always wanted. We're hauling it down to the marina first of the month.
