well i have been at the office since 630 am and left at 1030 last night after a 13.75hr day.. had to fix a machine so that this 27,000 copy 52 page graduation program could make the 3pm deadline today.. still need 4k done. 7 pallets loaded on the truck and deliver 20 miles away.. GOT TO DO WHAT needs to be done sometimes. $$$$$$$$$$ so worth being away from the family and boat for a couple days.

HOPEFULLY i can get out of here early today and get Paint in the ski locker. The last of the glass on the hatch so that it can go in tomorrow evening. And SATURDAY i can GLASS yay.. i am more that freaking stoked to have a solid floor in the boat..

Decided that i will finish the little jon boat while i am in the glass mode. Going to pour the closed cell foam into the hull and get the transom cut out so that i can get it al back together. Painted and setup. Going to do the glass and rear platform, make a custom push pole and mounts. SO that this thing shines and looks great. Not even going to splash it. Joing to instantly list it. Make a G off of $175 investment and put that cash into my golf cart fund.. Decided that this is not the ideal hull for what i want and how i fish. so the kayak will fill the fishing void for a year or so till i find or build from scrach exactly what i want. aka 16-18' and over 4' wide shallow drafting 40mph+ little skiff. Another reason is my sone cannot fish for a a while so may as well do a boat for the 2 of us that i am 100% on board with then. Instead of a boat that i am 45% in love with.. knowing i can flip it now and make easy money for minimal work. It makes the most since. Plus at the moment i would rather have the cash to go for Cart. And not have to fins an outboard for this little boat.

YUP i plan for an active weekend..

Little boat gets hooked to the Lawn tractor tonight and moved to the driveway nest to the Four Winns so it can be worked on also.

SHIT just got real.. YES i know i am crazy, But screw it.

Picked up the jet ski last night, FINALLY. Think I'll go out for a blast after work.

That's worth almost as much as your boat.

Well not really, but I've been impressed so far. Other than the copyright stamps those are unprocessed jpg's straight out of the camera. It should be interesting to see how processed RAW files turn out.

YOU SHOOT JPG?!

lol

I'm torn on getting either the Sony A6000, A77ii, or Nikon D7100 to replace my dinosaur.

Took the boat out for a spin today!

1999 Chaparral 240 Signature. It's so freaking nice to finally have room. It's been sitting so needs to be seriously cleaned (we spent 4 hours today still needs more) and a tune up, but it's solid. If the vinyl doesn't clean up he'll have it replaced. Going to bleach the hell out of it tomorrow as a last ditch effort. This week I'll take all the interior cushions out, remove the covers wash them, and clean the foam to get rid of the musty smell.

If you're wondering, a close friend owns the boat and didn't use it. He's in his late 30's and single, and it's just too much boat for one person to trailer and he has 3 jet skis and 2 other boats so it just sat. We came to an agreement that if I pay HALF the slip fee ($100 a month) it's mine to use. He's just happy to see it back in action. Needs some work from 4 years in storage but he said just tell him what it needs and he'll go buy it.

Should be a good summer, at least this will tie me over until I buy my 248 Vista

Over the past week or so I have purchased some goodies for the 246:

- Bimini top - Sunbrella with stainless hardware and strut braces (boat came with convertible top that attaches to windshield).
- A local guy builds outdrive jacks, so I picked one up. Will make any outdrive maintenance that much easier as I read the Bravo 3 weighs in at around 175lbs +/.
- Prop sockets for the Bravo 3.
- Three pairs of Polk Audio 6.5" speakers to replace the stock Sony noise makers
- Skeg guard

My cousin who does auto body repair said he would come over and do his magic on my outdrive. Should look better than if I did it myself. Think I will bring my boat home this coming weekend so we can work on it during the week. A bonus will be filling up at a gas station rather than a marina and save $1+ per gallon.

The last "want" I can think of is some stainless steel cup holders to replace the plastic ones that have discolored with age. I added them to my Amazon wish list and hope to get them as a Father's day gift...

Going to work on the chaparral and knock out some items on the list of %@#$6 that doesn't work from sitting.

Today's goal:
Fresh water pump (disassemble and clean to get working again)
Horn (clean contacts)
Play with the fridge some more to get working on 12v. Test on 120v
Make shorepower adapter to plug in the house to test

Fresh water pump is at the shop getting rebuilt, not paying $120 for another one.
Horn is on order, it was beyond repair.
Fridge works on 120v, not on 12v. Found a few forums with that model it should be a simple fix to get working on 12v again (a switch goes bad). Not sure if I'm even going to fix it. It will drain the batteries in like 6 hours. Get drunk and forget to turn it off = seatow.

Today I'm going to replace the square crusty cockpit courtesy lights. West marine had Blue LED replacements for $10 each. Heck yeah!

Also the stupid outdrive oil level hose/tank has a slow leak in the engine compartment, gotta find that and fix.

What's left?
Clean more.
Install 4 channel amp
Install subwoofer box
Install some LED lighting
Order shower head/hose (missing)
Get some cushions and a blanket
Some kind of fan until we figure out the A/C delima (cruisair carry on?)

I haven't spent a dime of my own money. He's paying for the parts to fix his boat that he neglected. I get it working and pay slip = I get to use it. So yes, I'll put time into a nice cruiser to use all summer.

Sounds like someone is getting free labor if you ask me, but that's my thought.

Can you post some more pics Ric? I'd love to see this thing come to life after being neglected.
