$300 a month for 16'x40' covered slip, includes H2O and metered electric. Our marina is about average for this area, has a cajun menu resturant with live music and cold beer.

Wow! You guys have it cheap in other parts of the country
I've been shopping around in Northwest lower Michigan and the cheapest I found for a 24ft boat was $1800 in a really crappy marina. A slip in a very nice private marina with pool is $3800. Average is around $2500 per season(May to October) and most have waiting lists as long as seven years.

JeffLW, I was just thinking the same thing about prices. Maybe part of our high prices is that we have to make up for the other 6 months of the year they don't have customers for gas, ships store, etc. Those other climates make money all year long. Plus there might be winter/ice damage and maintenance.

In Boston most do close up for the winter OR they are very slow. Why it is so cheap for me is that I belong to a yacht club. Clubs are owned by the members and most will exchange privileges. So I could leave Boston & go the the club in Salem and get a mooring or slip for free.

Very nice gated marina, no pool :( , $70 per foot for a 36' slip. Winter is ridiculous, so we bring it over to Wilson, NY for about 1/4 the price.

Hey weather, when ya bringing her over? I'm just down the coast at Youngstown, probably gonna have one last weekend boat-a-rama on the Niagara river this month. Be cool if you could make a little detour before Wilson.

Hey, keep it down in here! I pay about $600 a season at a State Park.
I don't want anybody getting crazy ideas about doubling that.
I think the private places are closer to $1000. I have water and electric,
but don't really use either.

This is what a typical monthly bill looks like for us. Highlighted in yellow are the fixed costs ($455) of having a 50' slip. We are members of a yacht club so a lot of the cost each month is food, pump out fees, ice and gas. Boating is very expensive and the dock space is just the tip of the iceberg. Hopefully, this yacht club stuff will payoff and my daughters will marry into money.

EDITED: I deleted a copy of my monthly bill. Only an idiot would disclose what they really pay for boating each month.

That's funny, the admiral started adding up expenses one night so I ran out a bought her a new pocketbook. The universe is back in balance!

Probably coming up on the end of our season. Will most likely pull her out and winterize/shrink wrap by the end of the month. :(

You guys got it cheap lol. The nicest marina in the area where I keep mine is 320 a month (1 year lease) for a covered 14x30 that includes power, water, pump out at each slip, nice clubhouse, great restaurant, good parking and its five minutes from my house.

You can boat all year here but I winterize mine Nov-Feb, the 320 a month might seem expensive but its nothing compared to actually using the thing, I put about 150-200 hours a year on.

Sad thing is the crappy marinas around arent much cheaper :(

I pay $2,700 plus the stinkin taxes, it comes to over 3 G's per year, winter included. It is a nice covered slip with municipal water and 30 amp service at my slip. A heated pool with a nice clubhouse with all the games and a big screen. I do store elsewhere, indoors for the winter but get no break for that.

I'm currently looking for a water front home to ditch suburban hell and marina fees. If that happens, the Vista will be up for sale and another jet boat in my future, powered by kerosene.

$1,910 for a covered 12x30, if I had one. I haven't done it yet though. A little under $1,500 for a 10x28 but that would be a little tight.

None of you guys should be complaining, when you hear Long Island prices, my son's friend's parents keep their boat at a local marina (really nice, pool, etc) and they were complaining to me about how much it costs, when I asked, $4500 for the season! He asked me what it costs to keep my boat on the mooring all season (400 to rent the mooring, we use a dinghy I keep on the beach to get out to the boat), and I think that helped him decide to keep his on a mooring next year but use a water taxi service (400 mooring rental, 1200 or so for the water taxi service). The downside is in the marina he could wash and clean the boat, on the mooring its impossible to keep it clean. BUT, if there is a big storm, the mooring is safer, because the boat is free to move with the waves and wind, not rubbing up against fenders or dock cushions for hrs on end. My main issues with the mooring have been bird crap and barnacles.

This guy also had the place where he bought it mechanically maintain it for him, between the marina and the mechanic he was paying 10 grand a year. When he asked me how much it costs to maintain ours, I said, well you don't really want to know, but I do have to put at least 10 hrs into it a year to keep it reliable (winterizing, springizing, and drive R+R). I looked at his bills and they are replacing things that you really don't have to do, even in salt water.
