NOAA sort of agree's with everyone's observations.. the water level is down about 1/2 meter from last year.

I hope we get lots of snow this winter. Otherwise there is going to be shortage of props.
The shop I go to has a huge collection of chewed up props from this year. A few more every time I go in there.
They said they haven't replaced this many in one summer ever.

At least the oceans aren't drying up.

Jefflw has nailed the conspiracy.

Between the US-Canada Joint Commission on Great Lakes Water Levels and the propeller shops who stand to make a fortune.

Wow thats a bummer, we have tides but no matter what the weather is we always have enough water. Now the barnacles and other marine growth we have in the salt pond I could do without, but a lack of water is something we have never had to deal with.

Funny how an event like Sandy makes you forget about low Lake levels...

I didn't forget. I was just saying last night that I hope Sandy dumps a lot of rain in the Great Lakes basin and helps bring the levels up.

I was never able to make it to any real major lake over this summer but did get to hit the fox river in Illinois by me and from when I started riding my stand up in April it was at its normal pre summer high. But wow by the time mid/end of June hit we lost about 1.5ft of water. Also spots that were 4,5,6 ft deep I could be waist deep or worse lower than my knee. Not normal for the river from yrs past. Glad all I was dealing with was a jet pump from my skis.

I saw boats out riding like the normally would and I hope they didn't pull the muck in there motors or trash props. But not with rain and these storms as hoping of a long cold snowy winter to help revive this yrs water shortage

Not good at all when I put money down for a marina that's off an already shallow river.

Might have to move her to Monroe if water levels don't improve!

Sandy gave us a 10 foot tidal surge, I'm sure that the people in parts of NYC and costal Long Island would be happy to sent it to whatever lakes are low on water.. ours is salty though and caused fires, ruined house wiring etc. South Shore LI will not be the same for years if ever.

Finally make the decision to move to the lake and all the water leaves. Rats.

OMG....

Solution: Build speed bumps in the Detroit River.
