I can wait.......

Anyway... Chap makes a good boat too, the one he is considering looks like a beached whale on the trailer. Certainly not a "sexy' boat that I seem to recall ricky wanting at one time .

Rick, wouldn't a nice sail boat give you LOTS more cabin room :?:

It's currently getting the inspecting as I type. Drive pulled, the whole 9 yards. LOL yeah she's a little thick in the thighs but on the water it's fine. Here's a pic with the camper canvas up on a SSI model. The first year 2003 "ss" models didn't get the windows or the big honking bow rail and 2004+ were called SSI with the big bow rail and static windows. Other then that, they were unchanged until discontinued in 2011 other than color choice. I'm going to search up some Bomar side windows that actually open and fit, but it's not a big priority. If it passes inspection with a good drive/engine I'll push the "buy now" button on Marinaire Micra AC. Priority #1, even over a good stereo. 6000 BTU should be cool the whole boat nicely even in the cockpit with camper canvas.

For a 21ft boat it's BIGG.

Ric, haven't you been dating someone for a while now and... you are still playing the field and banging every college chick that comes within 5 feet of you...

Yes.

Ric.......sounds like you need a house boat.............LOL!

Boat passed with flying colors. 233 hours. Mechanically perfect. Drive, bearing, like new. Only one motor mount needs tightening otherwise its ready to rock. Everything works as designed except some obvious things need fixing like speakers, missing Bimini top storage boot, waxing, and the trailer needs a whole new brake system as its rusted inside. Also might need leaf springs.

Ill try to get it for 14 flat.

Still at 14,800... but they're fixing the trailer's brakes and suspension.

Thats ok, I would have had to pay a few hundred to fix it anyways and I don't have a truck to go hauling it around to get fixed. I should have it by 3pm today fully repaired and detailed! 4 grand lower then any other 215 on the market and I know it's a great boat! Works for me!

What happened to 14,500.

If all goes good mechanically its mine for 14500.
My broker is going to hook me up and "buy it" under his dealers lic and sell it to me. No sales tax! My budget is 18 so that leaves me 3500 for mods (ac, tv, speakers).

It was renegotiated to 14800 with them doing all the repairs. I'm okay with that. If I had to bring it to a shop it would be over $1000. We're still well below it's NADA price of $20,000 and there are three 2003 215ss's right now on boat trader ranging from 20k to 24k.

So I'm almost 10k below retail. I'll invest $2500 for AC (batteries, inverter, shorepower hookup, charger), stereo, LED lighting, and TV so that leaves me roughly at $17500 total investment. If I decided to sell it next spring (ha probably) I have no doubt a low hour mint 215ss with AC will sell for 25k with my broker. Or I can list it with my broker right now for 23 and use it til it sells. If I get 21k again (19,500 in pocket) that's another $4500 profit in the bank.

I'm pretty good at these boat flips. If I sell this 215 next spring I'll be only 2 flips away from a fully loaded late model 278 Vista paid for by cash all starting from buying some woman's unused H180 for $1600.

Only took 2 hours to get the camper canvas on with a buddy. I think it was the first time ever installed. I'll leave it on for a few days to get stretched out and flat. All the zippers were stuck took a lot of wd40. One slider broke but I saved the broken one so I can visit a craft store tomorrow to find something comparable, no big deal. My broker "purchased" the boat and is "selling" it to me. Since he just sold my boat for more money and I'm "buying" another from him, I don't have to pay sales tax just registration.

Boat purrs like a kitten. It's like driving a mini yacht compared to the Stingray. So stable. So quiet. First thing I do is upgrade the radio, it's garbage. I have a few ideas for the AC install, I might take 1ft of cabin "seat" space by my buddies feet are and put it there. The enclosure will be the perfect height to act like a mini bar, and above that on the main back wall, the 22" tv. It won't steal any people space cause the TV is going there anyways. 220hp v8 is perfect. Gets on plane very flat and smooth like my H180 did. Cruises on plane at 2400 without breaking a sweat. Plenty of power.

Feels good to be in a real boat again. Driving tonight made me realize how much garbage that thing really was. Overall very happy with my purchase. Back before I purchased my stingray it was one of 3 models I vowed to purchase. Four Winns 205, Monterey 228sic, or Chaparral 215. I put an offer on a 215 for 18,500 last summer and the guy didn't take it and it wasn't in this good condition. Now I got one for much less!
