Ouch, sorry to hear of the problem. Your best bet to maintain your boating schedule is get it pumped out on your own first and then see about having the marina pay for some/all of it. You're likely going to have to get your insurance company involved.

This is why when I fuel up I state several times I need GASOLINE. I never mention the word diesel. No sense having the part-time dock workers even hear that word and get confused. Just ask for GASOLINE, loud and clear. Confirm it again when handed the hose. And again before you start pumping anything. I also visually follow the hose back to the pump and make sure it doesn't say diesel anywhere on it. That and note the smell as there's a reasonably strong difference between gasoline and diesel. I suppose it's entirely possible a fuel dock could have the wrong fuel in their tank, and noting the smell could potentially help detect that.

Sucks to have mistakes like this happen, but it sucks even more to lose boating time trying to assign blame. Fix it, keep boating and deal with getting paid back for it in parallel.

worse things can happen. that problem can be fixed in a few hours and a full tank of Gas
