Post Pics of your 2014 Boating Season

my waters are still cold in the 60s and the fish are deep. though the lower lake we have pulled a few large mouth in the past month but it has been hard to find them.. Dropping the foot off at the shop at lunch today to have the core pulled and inspected. hoping all is good to go and i will toss the upper and lower together and mount to the transom and we will be rock n roll.

Trailer fixed. Insurance and SeaTow purchased. All that's left is oil changes and water pump and I'll have a bunch of pics from living the life on the St Johns!!

YAY update after shop visit at lunch. The main marina mechanic and best mech in town said that my lower looks perfect and that i had the shift rod screwed in 2 turns too many preventing full engage into Forward and that this is the most common issue/.. YAY the OD will go back together starting tonight / tomorrow morning depending on how i feel. And as the weekend storms just rolled in i am content in the garage tomorrow putting the OD back together ready to be mounted.. this week will be spent cleaning boat and maintenance fluids and all that regular boring crap.. then the pictures will commence..

So I roll up to the marina to dock my boat and what's forsale? A 2002 248 Vista for 22k obo (don't pay attention to the ad). I wouldn't say it's perfect but for the price and a new trailer it's a freaking steal.

Anyways...

Day #1 was a total success. I didn't think I'd know anyone there, but it turns out my buddy that lives on my lake is now a bartender at the pool bar. 2 other people from my lake were hanging out there. I guess we all have the same idea of getting away from the pond and on to bigger waters!

They have around 40 wet slips for dry dockers behind the gated dock. You're allowed to keep it in the water as long as you wish. So basically I'll be calling Friday to have em put it in the water and Monday to put it back on the trailer. Everything is keyed. Bathrooms, laundry room, even the pool and outside bar. Non residents can purchase a key for $20. Keeps the riffraff out.

What about all the friends of members...now that your leasing can everybody have a key?

Just kidding, but it is ironic that nonmembers just became rifraff but yesterday you were the riffraff at he apartments on the pond. The circle of life is eternal Grasshopper:)

There's nothing wrong with invited guests. Get invited or buy a key and you're in, and they don't try to kick you out

I've been scoping out some places on the river to anchor out for the night. If the weather doesn't look too bad maybe I'll do my first night out on the St John's next Saturday night. I'll bring the good camera
