No river boating for me at least not yet. Thanks for the heads up on the Smithville rate hike. I'll need to get a Senior Citizen to go buy my passes for me this year for sure. Just talked to some Smithville boaters Saturday night and one of the really loves to wake-board and wants to get together on some weeknights when the water is calmer and fewer of the crazes about. As far as Stockton is concerned I'm in for sure
I love that lake, been trying to get the Admiral down there for the past two years. Table rock is awesome also, we are going there the first week in June. MWBP group is going to be having the Fall party on the weekend of Aug. 16th at Perry Lake. With my birthday being the 15th I'll definitely be there!! I also like the idea of a Four Winns get together very much Stockton or Table Rock would be very cool.

Walt found out that the St. Joe gas docks are closed. I'm trying to find here the next closest place for gas on the Missouri River is, some of the guys at the plant do their boating on the river, but they where off today. I'll up-date as soon as I get the information.

For Walt and anyone else thinking of boating up the Missouri River from the Kansas City area their is NO place to buy gas on the river until you get past the MO. line. I,d suggest load up some extra 5 gal. cans of gas. A developer in Leavenworth is also trying to put a marina on the river, but so far it's not any further along than the K.C. one.

FYI to Busa... and anyone else local.....

The airshow at the down town airport is Aug 22/23. I've got a full boat already scheduled to watch that and do some wakeboarding. Anyone else think about bringing thier FW? I'll be launching from Cheatuea bridge/ramp around 11am on Sun the 23rd. Respond or PM me if you think you'll be there as well.

Well Busa... Sorry you weren't able to make it. I had a great time. We did some boarding, as well as taking in the show.

Howdy All.... been busy with the boat. Got some pics to share...

Weekend of Sept 19th, went down to Lake Pamona (KS) with doc99. Excellent lake... very few boaters (like less than 5!). We saw what I believe is a prototype FW either large Horizon, or Vista. Anyway, it had an SS-ish color scheme and an old "throw-back" body like the car manufacturers are doing these days....See for yourself...notice the paddlewheel!

Image

Last weekend I got together with doc99 and Busacharger for an impromptu gathering at Smithville Lake. doc99, Walt, Busacharger (L-R), looking at Busa's pics from Sat's race down at LOTO.
Image

Shortly there after, Busacharger took a new Cobalt for a few turns, showing us what it can do.... very impressive!

Image

Boating season may be over for me... but certainly not forgotten! -Ardy..... it's up to you to keep me cheered up for the next 6 months!

Was good to meet up and visit with you guys instead of just passing by at the ramp. L-R Doc99, Walt, and Busachargers Horizon's.

It's been a while in posting, but I finally got time to put up the pics of this Labor Day's run on the Mo River w/ Doc99 and the women folks. We had some food before we left, since there ain't anyplace I know of to tie up, or stop and eat. We had hoped to find "facilities" in either Parkville, or Leavenworth, but were disappointed. Anyhow....

Launched from the Cheatou ramp and headed up-river. It was very windy (about 30-40 mph), but the banks gave us some protection. We passed under the nearly finished "Kit Bond Bridge".
Image

After we passed downtown, and got a good pic of the sky-line
Image

This crazy basterd took us up the Kansas River! We went about 1/4 mile to the 3rd st bridge, and turned back for the Big Muddy.
Image

Took in the sights, and saw some of the local boating traffic...
Image

Watched a little TV....
Image

Went up the Little Platte about 1-2 miles... at 50 MPH! (Toward Smithville) You don't realize know how much a boat drifts until you go that fast in such a norrow body of water!
Image

Got to Leavenworth, and turned back.

Image
Total time out was only about 3-4 hours. A good run, to say the least. My PP made cruising a breeze!

We have only two "boat" related shows this year; the Sports-ish show at Bartle on the weekend of the 14th and the Lake Ozarks in Overland Park the weekend of the 28th.... Any other locals going to either?

I'll probably catch the OP one. That is where I put the deposit down on my 220H 4 years ago. Call me nostalgic.

In response to 230 Mike's post on another thread, There were many boats, dealers and manuf's there. Other than being under-powered, i believe this was the best show in about the last 3-4 years. I felt they were a little "heavy" on tooner's though. I think Cobalt had the best lay-out. Also included.... Midwest Marine (Harrisonville) w/ Crownline; Blue Springs w/ Chap; Sportsmans w/ Sea Ray, Glastron AND Malibu! Tige and Regal too, but can't remember the dealers. But still no FW dealers in our area!

Is Village Marina at LOTO no longer FW? Their website says they are.

Or were they just not in attendance?
