I don't have any friends, so no problems ;)

OK, there is one thing that absolutely drives me to insanity: orange snacks. Cheese Puffs, cheesy Doritos (hell, those things are gross on LAND let alone a boat) or anything of the kind. For that matter, my preference would be to not have any solid food of any kind on the boat, but with 3 kids and a wife I know where that battle would land me.

Porta-potty, if I didn't intend for it to be used I may have bought a different boat. Not that I bought this boat because of a toilet, but for us it's an important feature and not many boats in this size range have them. For us it's meant the difference between getting out of boating during the young child years, and being able to continue to be boaters (or, at least bring a boat home once a year, clean & wax it, and spend the rest of the time on boating forums  ).

I actually don't worry much about shoes in the boat. I figure the carpet in these things doesn't hold up long enough to worry about anyway. Now, step on my vinyl with your shoes, and we have a problem...

I'm cold ..... It's too loud ..... I wanna go home ......

Did we not discuss that you bring along proper clothing for when it gets cooler? Did we also not discus how long we would be out?

- Well put 230Mike 8)
- Ohh good one M3

Poorly mannered guests are a headache so I am pretty selective. I tend to gravitate towards those with much of the same attitudes as I have so there is rarely have an issue. I've been pretty "Blessed" in my relations (except the beer bottle over the side incident) but I am pretty mellow at leisure time; so sometimes it is taken for granted and the result is an instance where someone I personally wouldn't run with gets past the gates. I try to be accepting of people in general and overlook what could be considered deficiancies by some - god knows I have a few of my own. With every bit of good comes a little bad I guess so thankfully we have threads like this to vent out.
These cheesy treats have been mentioned a few times before - I am definately taking note to avoid having that on site!

For the most part I try to look at it like the reason I am out here is to have a good time and leave all my stress behind, so I try not to get to bent about anything. Some of my loose guidelines are:
Naked feet only.
Smoking on the swim platform only (or smoking porch as we call it now).
Litter in the trashcan (I modified one to fit under the rear hatch/engine compartment).
Fenders out before we get to the dock.
I love it when you dance on the boat, but please don't hang from the bimini as you rock the boat back and forth.

Good times!

David

D). All the above

I have a couple thought that I would like to add. People that just don't get it. Let's put it this way, friends that pitch in, get invited back more often. Plain and simple. You no pitch in (gas $$$, beer, food), you no come back. Capehe'?

The shoe thing really bothers me. I am so laid back that it typically doesn't bother me but dang, when you see me take my shoes off to get on the boat, do the same.

I know this could probably be a whole seperate thread, but I wish I had a gun with rubber bullets to nail PWC operators who think my sole responsibily on the lake is to provide them with waves to jump. ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM TOWING SOMEONE!!! I chased a kid down 2 years ago on Lake Cumberland and threatened to call the cops because he was jumping my wake while I was towing a skier.

NUMBER 1 I HATE MORE THAN ANYTHING!!!

DO NOT TOUCH MY RADIO!!!

Under any circumstance. I spend a lot of time picking out my music, and last time I checked, I make the payments so hands off. If you don't like the music, as me nicely, and if I feel like, I will move on to the next song.

Other than the previously mentioned things, and the few I mentioned, we'll get along just fine.

I didn't see these mentioned so here's two:

1) using my stern light pole as a grab handle when walking across my swim platform!! Its been broken twice and the next time it happens I might beat the person with it.

2) Bringing bottles!! Liquor or beer. Get plastic or get cans. I don't want the danger and hassle of glass or the extra room the trash takes up.

2) a. Leaving empties in the cupholders.

empties in the cupholders is a good one...or how about the girls (meaning guys or girls) that open a beer, drink about half of it in an hour than either pour it out and open a cold one or leave it in a cupholder and grab a cold one.

If thats how you drink, than bring your own beer to pour into the lake...didnt they make those little 8 oz cans for people like that!

Woggy - as usual so creativly put :)
Wow - jumping your wake with a skier  Holy $hit - see I only have a mellow nature to a point. For me thats a pull in my skier and run - not chase that $8*&)!!er down.
It's very rare but I have flown into a rage over idiocy like that - sounds like you need the "A Team" with a potatoe cannon turret on the front!

My list of rules:

No smoking - since I quit... my boat, my rules. I can't stand the smell now.
No whinning.... period.. dock time. Unless you are 7 years and below...
No shoes (make a exemption for deck shoes but don't put on till off pads)
No drunks... period, you will be dropped off at dock - I do drink, but very little when at helm. Nothing worse than dealing with a dopie drunk.
Leave my radio alone - unless you ask and I give the go ahead.
If you are in the water - you are wearing a pfd of some sort - no exceptions.

Bitches include - is the kids (all grown up) not helping clean up / prep or anything but show up drink all the beer, burn all the gas and then disappear at end of day. Weird - that the 3 year old grandson actually wants to help clean up. Good kid.

Here is my list...

Steping or jumping over the Helm seat. :x
Coming on to the boat without a bathing suit (we ARE surrounded by water)
Whining when they lose their $200 sunglasses overboard.. ALL DAY (Use the boat pair... $3.99 WalMart special)
Complaining about ANYTHING I provide (food, water, sunscreen, booze) If you no like... swim to the store
Offering $20 for gas (I didn't ask, I don't want, it's less than I tip the pump kid)
Yanking, pulling, shoving, wrenching, slamming, or pounding anything on my boat (when you get a boat, you can do that to yours)
Asking to drive (Even if you are smoking hot.. I am the Captain)
and my #1: ACTING LIKE A LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS FOOL (you will be left behind)

I agree with most evrything stated, but the one thing I haven't seen mentioned is, at the end of the day.....truck tires have yet to even stop at the top of the boat ramp, and friends are scattering like roaches when the lights come on !!!!! It certinally makes you take mental notes for a "not to invite again list!"

I think everyone covered just about everything. One other thing I want everyone who ride our boat to clean their mouth before they aboard….... “F” this, “F"that…. Not in our boat…

We haven't had too many problems.... yet.
Usually our guests are invited for 2 - 5 days at a time so we're VERY selective as to who we invite.
I do however agree with several points here such as:

Bringing bottles instead of cans - whats up with that!
Wearing shoes on board - lack of respect.
Messy eaters/drinkers - the orange variety or otherwise.
Lack of help or having to ask for help when docking.
Guests that don't bring their own personal stuff like toothpaste, etc.

Heres a couple that really tick me off...
Everyone moving to the same side of the boat while underway.
The suggestion that we do a day trip to a well known port of call on Georgian Bay which is approx $80.00 in fuel each way.... without offering to contribute. These things don't run on fumes.
