Sierra, do you recall what price point that 441 was at vs the 42 Sea Ray? List on the Sea Ray is around 500k+, I had heard of deals in the low 4's on the Sea Ray. Lightly used they are all over the board... with an '06-'07 running mid-high 3's.
I have no clue on the 441, but it sure is a nice boat. People had complained that Meridian didn't even use stainless staples and cut corners in some places -- but with the move to the Sea Ray plant for assembly - it's expected that stuff like that gets alot better with the newer boats.
The 441 is a fantastic Pac NW cruiser -- and common in the Seattle area (maybe because they were assembled here for many years).
It's just tough to get over that 'Meridian = Bayliner with lipstick' concept...
I don't recall the pricing off-hand but have a picture of the sticker from the show (this 441 was
loaded) and will post it sometime this weekend. I've been trying to find time to sea trial it all summer but haven't wanted to be away from my boat long enough to make the trip. It's also the comparable boat to the 44 Sea Ray, not the 42. And there really does seem to be a glut of Sea Ray DB's on the market right now. I'm pretty sure it's off my list for reasons I've stated, but there are definitely deals to be had on 2006+ models. I have yet to see one on the market with DTS and that would be a dealbreaker for me. It's one of those features you never want to do without once you have it (same for autopilot).
This 441 is an all new model for Meridian this year so it really represents where the company is now. I hear you on the 'Bayliner with lipstick' association, but that's other people's perception, not mine, and I don't care what people think about a brand that I own as long as I like it. If you read other message boards there are a lot of unflattering things written about Four Winns based in perception, not in reality. I'm glad that those comments never kept me from considering Four Winns as my experience has defied all of the naysayers.
And while it's fun and challenging to ponder what's inevitably next, I can hardly wait to get on board my V358 tonight! When I've been off it, even for five days, I still get almost as excited as I was the first time. For me, that says everything
