I always do mine at the end of each season...but my boat is ancient compared to most on this forum and it's my way of making it last as long as I can (original raw water cooled engine going on 22 years old...)
Having said that I think it'd be interesting to do an oil analysis on the motor oil after a season of use to see what comes up...the drive oil I always do to because water intrusion is not uncommon and not good to leave over the winter....I also remove the drive each season so that I can check the bellows for water intrusion and also check the gimble and ujoints....that way any needed repairs are done in the off season not when everyone is rushing to get their boats done in the spring...
