I'm sure the runabouts are a different story, they are MUCH simpler to build. Stingray has been using foam cored, fiberglass stringers for years but they are "simple" in comparison to the floor plan in a FW Cruiser.
Well suffice it to say, the way the stringer system is done today on the boats I saw was a totally separate insert, unlike the stringer system in my boat where it is obvious the stringers are laminated to the inside of the hull individually. Now I didn't see any wood in the stringer insert, as it was fully moulded and gelled, but i guess it is possible, and my memory has faded enough
The only wood I seen was the rear bulkhead between the engine and the aft berth on the cruisers.
