I agree. The London Boat Show starts friday, and it is a huge show. You would think his efforts would be better spent trying to solicit some business in his home country. I would imagine shipping costs within GB would be much more favorable than to ship overseas. How he picked a Four Winns forum to post on is beyond me, there will not even be any FW boats displayed at the Excel this year.
Sure wish I could attend. I would love to check out the new Fairline Squadron 70, which will debut there.

And Sunseeker's new 30 metre yacht. Also to debut at the show.

Anyway..... those that do attend the KC show, let us know how it was, what you liked, what you didn't, etc.

I'm hoping to go, but we've still got a good 6-8" of snow on the ground from Christmas day, another 3-6" expected between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday noon, with wind chills to -35F. We'll see. If I do go, I'll try to get some pics. Maybe I can get someone to take a pic of me with Billy.

It's been a couple of years since I went, but last time I did go it was dominated by row after row of identical cheap bass boats and a few bigass house boats. It's the Table Rock Effect. ;)

Okay, so it's going to be cold. Show is inside, should be warmer there. Bikini's will increase ambient temperature throughout the city. Bar B Q pits with ribs smoking will also add to the level of available warmth. Meteorologists probably did not take those factors in to account with their forecast. Smell of new fiberglass = Happiness and warm overall feeling.

Go to the boat show..... Go to the boat show.... Go to the boat show.....

Looks like typical weather here in Maine. That forecast makes the thought of global warming to be a good thing for boating

Now they've updated it. Low Friday night, at least -15F without the windchill. It's snowing sideways as I type this.

All the more reason to go to a boat show with bikini-babes and rib eating contests....

As my father in law (who also lives in KC) put it when I suggested he attend the show:
"I think there is a some escapism to go to a boat show this weekend -- forecast is for snow the next 2 days and then really cold Friday, like 2 degrees!!"

Nothing wrong with some escapism in my mind....

Here in KC that's pretty much all the boat show has ever been IMO. You get through Christmas, the Chefs end another embarrassing season, and then you have nothing but 2 months of the most gawdawful cold, bitter weather found anywhere. The boat show is all there is in the middle of that. Yeah, they sell a few boats, but I don't think it's ever been a huge money maker.

A co-worker went last night, and was not impressed. I'm scheduled to work ALL weekend now, so the question is moot for me. I will be going next weekend to the same venue. Hopefully a few more dealers/boats, but not counting on it. I spent about 20 min last night cleaning snow off my boat.... the cabin fever is eating me alive!!!

"Not impressed!!??" How could you NOT be impressed with fare like this?

I swear, it was the lamest POS of a boat show I've ever seen.

To be fair, it wasn't what I thought it was - shame on me for not researching it a little more ahead of time. I thought this was the "big" KC boat show, which it wasn't - this was the "Sportshow." As many RV's as boats, with a ton of lake lice, cars, Amsoil, mops, leather belts with your name on 'em, and yes, SOCKS, thrown in. For my $24 of admission and $7 parking, I got a 1-year subscription to Field & Stream.

The only real display of boats was Lake Viking Marine, with their usual (though a tad smaller it seemed) variety of Cobalts. You gotta love looking at new Cobalts under the bright lights in the middle of January.

Next weekend is the real boat show.

Yup, and I should be there too! But after this week, me thinks I should get a couple pairs of them bear-skin socks!

Just spent the day at the KC/Mid-America Boat and RV show with the GF and Doc99. I must say it was much better than last year, but not as good as it had been historically. Fishing and Tooners were well displayed. As Mike mentioned, Cobalt had a good set up as well, but the Power swim platform was absent. They did say it should be here next weekend, but were curious how I found out about it. I played coy, like I was in on some gov't cover-up. Sea Ray also suprised me as the dealer that does my service work now sells Sea Ray via MarineMax. At least I will now have some eye-candy when I drop my boat off for service. Instead of socks, I bought some clips to hold towels on my Bimini. I got 6 for $10. Not bad if they do as advertised.
