Sorry I tired to help . I DO have some experience with this same year and model boat as one of my very good friends purchased one brand new and used it to fish out on Lake Michigan. I even said in my post "I am not bashing". All I did was pass some of the issues he had in the hopes you might be able to help direct your surveyor to some of the more common issues this boat has had. After doing some research, he found out he was not the only owner who suffered through them...quite a few actually. He nicknamed it a "hobby boat" because fixing window leaks, hull to deck joint separations and many other issues keep you busy. Rather than just being able to trust that the boat.

Trust me...after seeing him go through all of that my post was kind about what I think of the boat. But have fun...and sorry I tried to help in the first place.

I didn't read anything in WD's posts that could be taken as anything other than factual. Seemed like a pretty helpful post to me, and I've seen enough of his posts over the years to know he wouldn't just blindly bash your boat.

I will say - who among us can say there were no corners cut in our FW's? I sure can't, in fact there are things I've been downright disappointed with. There's a reason they make more than one model and one brand. Different needs/wants for different people.

A survey is a good idea with any big used boat - including FW. ;)

You had better listen to Wet Doggg. Before he took that spin in his friend's Bayliner on Lake Michigan, his name was just Doggg.

Again, I wasn't looking for any advice on the boat. I actually started the thread about a 288 that was a good deal. Someone wanted pictures of the boat I bought. That's all. See ya

Screw it. I am glad to see that some members of this forum are giving honest evaluation of 248 Vista's desire to purchase this boat. I just wish I was a member of this forum when my dumbass decided to buy another boat prior to selling my old boat. Maybe you all would have talked me out of doing it. Don't hold back guys. In the long run, 248 Vista will appreciate it.

Some of the defensiveness in this thread sounds like someone who dates a fat chick and gets defensive when his buddies give him a little crap about it.

I'm the first to get my panties in a wad... but over a Bayliner? HA!

Obviously, he hasn't owned one... There's a reason why 80% of folks who buy a bayliner, don't return to the brand.

Sorry if that sounds like bayliner-bashing... but it's the truth.

(I've earned the right to make my statements as I have owned a Maxum (1991 2300SCR)).

oh boy.

something tells me that when feelings get hurt like this, threads get locked and closed down.

Admin? Cleanup on aisle nine.

Enjoy your new toy. may you spend more time fishing & relaxing than you do wrenching and fixing.

Sea Ray is supposed to be "Tops", but I have two friends who have later model SR's and cant wait to get rid of them because they are "Pieces of shit". The problem is, that when you buy that pricey pos, you cant get rid of it. And that is all I am going to say about it

This dude has got to be a troll. Here he is bitching about Sea Ray quality, yet he is going to buy a Bottom-Liner, I mean a Bayliner?

Okay, enough already; lets all play nice.

I joined this group to expand my knowledge, to ask for help and share in the friendship of boating. Other then the fact that we all have the owned Fourwinns, love boating and dream of warmer weather we are a diverse group that most likely wouldn’t even look at one another at a traffic light.

Can we all just get back to the reason why we joined, and enjoy boating?

Troll? You are just another one of those chat room a**holes I guess. I wasnt bitching about Sea Rays, obviously a few of you have a very hard time reading, as well as running your mouths with opinions when not asked for them. I feel very sad for you guys. Pretty lame. Obviously you guys have forgotten why we have boats. Thanks Bob. At least one of you get it.

Don't feed the monkeys!

The sooner we let this thread die, the sooner this guy can back to his regularly scheduled programming.
