I personally like the curved elagance of the Four Winns over the angular and a bit more flashy design on the Glastron.

In fact I prefer the Four Winns without any graphics on the side due to the fact the simple and elegant lines speak for them self.

The Glastron seems to need the trademark chevron graphics for the rest of the boat to work style wise. It is a little more "in your face" style wise. There is nothing wrong with that. It really comes down to personal preference.

I've got to ask though ... Why on earth would they have a square cornered windshield in this day and age?[/quote]

If you ever had to replace that curved glass on most modern sportboats, it will make most boat repair projects look cheap...I saw pix of this boat on another site and the frame looks very much like the ones used on 80s FWs.. they may be able to use tempered glass which can take a slight bend to it but is cheap to replace. My old 88 has this type of windshield and the glass is not expensive and you can replace it yourself (I did have to do this, one side was replaced with plexiglas by the PO and it looked bad after a few years)...

BTW Taylor Made makes many of these windshields and not only are the curved windshields outrageously expensive to add insult to injury once the boat is more than 7 years old they often discontinue them so if you need to replace one you are SOL...

When it comes to things boating I'll take ease and low cost of repair any day over hard to find and expensive limited one vendor stuff....

Roch Lambert Speaks yesterday at the Glastron dealer meeting / Open House in Cadillac.
They showed all of their 2011 models to the attendees.
Quote:
"Everyone is on a high this week," Roch Lambert, president of Rec Boat Holdings. "We're shaping the future of Glastron right now." But over the last four months, the team at Project Boat Holdings had to not only move production from Little Falls to Cadillac, but also change the way the boats were built, from the proprietary VEC process to more traditional open-mould techniques.

"We transferred a little more than 100 truckloads of molds and materials," says Lambert. "In all, we moved production of 22 models from Little Falls to here. That meant building 50 new moulds and re-engineering 14 new boats."

Lambert said production of the first Glastron built in Cadillac happened three weeks ago. The company is up to 35 to 40 boats per week. "The transition is complete," he said. "We are now focused on building boats in Cadillac." Lambert said that designers are already working on the 2012 models. "You're going to start seeing significant changes for 2012," he added.
