Get yourself a Kohler Sea Spares kit for your 5E before next season and carry the spare fuses, filters, etc for your genset.

Then you'll also be all set to winterize next year and just need to replenish your kit.

I like it! It's going on the spring launch list. Thanks!

For those that have been following the winterization process on the new to us boat....here's the latest. Went down this morning with the intent of completing the fresh water system and possibly the genset and A/C (yeah, right). On the previous boat I took the quick and easy method of winterizing which meant dumping gallon after gallon of anti-freeze into the water tank and running it through all of the lines. It works but spring time brings the wonderful stank of anti-freeze in your water that takes multiple flushings of the water system to get out.

This year I decided to install a by-pass on the hot water heater. In typical fashion, it was an all day project with the most time consuming part being getting the original fittings disconnected from the hot water heater. Yes, even though they are quick disconnect fittings they refused to live up to their name and quickly disconnect. Once they were off I realized that I would need quick disconnect fittings for the by-pass so it was off to West Marine....then another West Marine....and then a third West Marine. Got what I needed, installed everything, hooked up the hose to the city water inlet and turned the water on....only to see water spraying all over around my newly installed by-pass. Adjusted a few things, reset the quick connect fittings, tried it again....and SUCCESS! Tomorrow I'll finish up by running anti-freeze through the lines and then blowing everything out with an air compressor. I have the system all set up to feed from a portable tank of anti-freeze that connects just before the frsh water pump. Wish me luck. Someday I'll get to my A/C and genset.

Engine oil changed (x2), fuel filters changed (x2), genset oil changed, A/C is done, genset is done, fresh water is done, holding tank is done, head is done, engines are flushed....all that's left is pulling the drain plugs on the engines, removing the props, and changing the drive oil. And cleaning....she needs a really good cleaning.
