That's funny, I was just over at Aurora Marine last week and they recommended i use a a 15 here in Denver and a 13 up in the mountains. I asked about a 19 and a 17 and they told me that would bog the motor down too much, kinda like running a car in 5th gear in the city I think was the example they gave me. I have good power here in Denver with the 15, just max out at about 31 mph. The engine is a 5.0 so there is not a ton of power. I was thinking of getting a 17 to see what the difference would be with the boat loaded (6-7 people) and not loaded (just me driving). Others have suggested I could run down in Denver with a 19, so I guess I will have to do the trial and error bit to see what is the best range for this boat. I think a 13 sounds too restrictive, but my 15 would really bog down with more than 6 people in the boat up in Grand Lake so I guess the proof is in putting one on and seeing what changes. Thanks for your comments, this type of thing can be frustrating.
