We had a great day Saturday and a monsoon on Sunday. Still, very worth the time with family and friends. We went out to boater's beach by East Harbor State Park and had a great afternoon. Waist deep water and the kids love it there!

Great to see a post from Marblehead. My grandparents had a house on the sandusky bay side of the peninsula. Spent some awesome summer and winters up there as a kid. Hope to get up that way again soon.

Hey Mr. Bulbous, it is a neat place, but be very glad you weren't here on Sunday! If you ever make it up, let me know, we're there almost every weekend in the summer.

I hope it's not as hot this year in KY as last summer, record 90+ weather last year if I remember correctly!

We had a great time at the floating house on Norris Lake this year. Still have one more big trip (and hopefully a few little ones) planned for Labor Day. Here are a few pics.

Kentucky not too bad. Yeah it's hot...a little above average for the summer, but we've had rain once or twice a week. Last year was about 60 days straight with no rain.

Know what you're saying about Erie. Took a few trips past Detroit in a 24ft cabin cruiser (as a kid). Got caught in horrible storms both times and nearly capsized. Family didn't plan too many extended trips after that.

just a couple of pics from our camping trip this weekend. Stayed at a boat in only site at Horsetooth in Colorado. Found out a mountain lion was spotted at this site the week before. We were the only ones staying in this cove. It was awesome. On a side note, I used this app called autostitch to stitch 4 pics together to make a panoramic view of each shot. Kinda cool.

Gorgeous pics Oscar, my wife and I want to make the trip out there soon. We were thinking Amalfi. Any tips? I wanted to visit Ovierto as well. My family is from a small area outside of it.

what to say? both nice places!! Orvieto is not on the seaside but the region around is very nice and full of ancient things to visit and it's really worth to do it.
Amalfi and all the peninsular area it's wonderful as well with unique landscapes...a little bit expansive...take care of the wallet, to go in Amalfi you need to rent a car, or reach Neaples by Train.... :?

Great video! Isn't there a law against water being that smooth? MAN I want to boat out there. You can sure see how the water is down.

+1 Mike. It looks beautiful there. Very different from Tennessee--that's for sure.

Nice weather can be different to all of us, some like it hot, some like it cool for fishing.
My personal favorite time to go is the first part of September. Air temps cooling down but water still warm, monsoon storm season is over.

The lake never freezes and you can boat, fish, hike, sight see, explore, year round.

Beach camp sites change based on current lake level, and can change rapidly. Every time we go to powell and visit the same canyon, it can look very different. Best I could do for you, would be to recommend a canyon to check for camp spots based on which marina you are launching from.
PM or email me and I would gladly make recommendations.

You can also goto this site for lots of info. http://www.lakepowell.water-data.com
