Wonder what the beam "on" that boat would be? :)

Cap'n may get in trouble test driving that one!

Maybe not, maybe the wife wouldn't mind a sea trial herself...

That would be quite an impressive upgrade! So did you happen to run into Cap'n at the GR boat show?

So Cap'n are you ready to drop a hint yet, or has maryannII "guessed" correctly :?:

Boat's don't get wet around here until April, so still a long wait ahead. Plus the GR boat show next week, and there are some deals to be had there.

We went for a drive down to our marina this past Saturday to check on our boat (on blocks and shrink wrapped), our dock boxes and patio stuff.

It felt like spring was already here. The lake had no ice, the river from our marina heading into the lake had no ice and no ice even inside the marina basin itself! For the first week in February that is just amazing.

Some boater's in the Great Lakes area may get an early start this year if they want, provided the weather does not take an abnormally long cold spell now.

Mike.

Mike,
Sounds like you're putting in. Give me a call if you do, I need a boating fix. Dan

Hey Dan, you're welcome to drop by our boat for a little "boat fix" and a cold beer, but even if I wanted to get our boat lifted back in the water now, I couldn't.

Our marina would need to move about 8 boats from blocks before they could get to my boat. We normally end up being blocked in about the same spot each year, so by the time the marina gets in a position to get to our boat, it's typically the first week of May which works well for our plans anyways.

Convince Cap'n to take his new boat for a shake down cruise up Lake Michigan and down the west side of Lake Huron and I'll boat up to Port Huron, Michigan and meet you guys. :)

Mike.

I remember watching with great interest as the Cap'n went through a rigourous process to finally select the Monterey - and I found myself with new-found respect for the Monterey brand as a result. Just wondering if your decision to buy again has anything to do with the Monterey, or you're simply looking to upgrade?

Maybe it's the sharp looking and lightly used 2005 Monterey on Ebay? Lake of the Ozarks, MO isn't very far from Michigan.

Interesting thought. I believe the Cap'n is sold on Monty and 2005 was a VERY good year for boats.
