Come on...the cheap look of the plastic functionless triangles on the sides of the crown line is enough to make me run...reminds me of Chevy Chase's 8 tail light stationwagon traveling to wallyworld.

I think you might be thinking of a Chaparrel.

You called it, he got his boats mixed up.

Chap 264 (aka Chevy Chase mobile)

Nothing wrong with either of those two boats IMO. They both look sweet.

Sushi,
Or you could always spend the big bucks for a Sea Ray 250 SLX.
Boat with 5.7L 300 hp and BIII drive, base price is $85K, add some options and you are close to $100K
Add the 8.2L 380 HP engine, that is a $12K upgrade.

Holy Crap !!!! well north of $112K for a 26 foot bowrider ?????? Not a chance. Sea Ray's are NOT that much better of a boat.

Sea Ray better then Four Winns? In the 90s? Yes. Sea Ray was king of the hill back in the 90s. Leaps and bounds better then anyone else in terms of styling, build quality, and standard features.

Now let's move forward to the mid 2005 to present. I would say chaparral, crownline, and four winns are all on top. Sea Ray is just riding the heels of their popularity 20 years ago, but their quality/styling is still stuck in the early 2000s. I hate to say it, but our favorite budget friendly boat company Bayliner is really starting to kick things up a notch in 2011-2 at least in the cruiser department. Their interior design is amazing. The only good thing I can say about their runabouts is:

Although If you price a new 2012/13 Horizon 260 it would exceed $110K mark as well if you priced with same options like 8.2 MAG and arch….…..Image

And yes we are planning to get 8.2 L MAG Bravo III, DTS w Smart Tow, Wakeboard Arch w/bimini, Trim Tabs and other nuts and bolts on our new boat...

As far as Sea Ray SLX goes it is a nice boat but not our taste… something like I am a Ford Man and not Chevy….

Good lord I woudn't even contemplate spending that much for a boat that in two years will lose so much value!
