Just saw red one.
http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2004- ... -101697542Bad wood rot needs engine cover replaced all the hinges ripped out, cabin leaks has water damage, tach and depth finder don't work, all gauges leak and have water vapor in them, exhaust leak and needs manifolds they are rusted to heck, oil pressure on the low side of specs way too low for 140hrs, water pump for shower/faucet broken, navigational lights non functional, cabin lights non functional, power steering pump whining + steering jerky, snap in cockpit cover needs repair, "new" bimini top fits like junk (not OEM), missing cooler, horn non functional, blower sounds like it has a broken blade, very sluggish and only got 46mph gps. The trailer that "just needs tires" is a rotted pile of scrap.
Wasted my day, $60 in gas, and over 4hr round trip. It's a 2004 with 140 hours stored inside, it should be close to showroom condition and he described it like it was. I didn't even bother to make an offer, I told him I didn't want a project boat and this is not what I was expecting to see. He said he would discount for every repair needed. Still declined.
Between us I wouldn't even buy that boat for $6000. The condition reflects it was either sunk or in a flood with all the rot and electrical issues. On the bright side I love the 228 SIC. Cabin is at least 1ft bigger then a 205 Sundowner, looks more sporty, and that sun deck thing is cool for babes in bikinis. The quest continues.
