Four Winns are not speed hulls. Don't get your hopes up :)

It's raining here, miserable. I was going to start my jogging again but instead I had two vodka tonics. Close enough.

Oh yeah, I can tell by the way it's designed but, compared to my Wellcraft, the Four Winns may as well be a hydroplane :P

reading about the Comp Cam Marine 252BH for the FORD 302. the RPMs are great for my motor range 800-4800, i am liking the durations.. I have not found the stock cam specs from OMC. I am going to look in my Master tech manual at lunch and see if i can find any part number and do some looking. BUT is know that COMP CAM has improved things int he past 20 years since my stock cam was profiled.

NO i am not going to double my power. that is not the goal.. just to add a little pep in the step. I feel that this will be much easier and more reliable that building one of my 454s and having to do all of that converting and worry about the OD.. do a "FRESHENING" up of the 302 over the winter. HELL once the seat is out i do not even have to pullet he motor to do what i want.. lol.. I will take the time to go thru a lot of things..

That is what i am up to.

look in to a lunati cam i have used both lunati and comp cams . the lunati is much better cam

do any of y'all know the max duration for a roller marine cam before the risk of Hydrolock.. i know that not all cams that actually are suitable for the marine are labeled "marine" also my motor is a Roller with the dogbone lifter retainers. AKA great block platform. Lucally their are tons of great affordable replacement roller lifters and cams. But finding the correct specs is proving more of a challenge.. as most are either too hot or damn near stock.

No clue. This is the cam I would use in my engine, it's a GM performance cam, also used in Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI
http://paceperformance.com/i-6255412-14 ... t-350.html

It produces this dyno chart

well tired of coming up with something not just right int he cam department. so i have emailed Comp and Lunati for their recommendations on applicable roller grinds for my marine application. Now lets see if i can find an intake and better manifolds without spending a million dollars.

Let me know how it goes. There's nothing more in life that I want right now then installing a Holley 4bbl, cam, and intake on my 5.0. It's not even an issue of money or time, I just can't justify it especially when the new prop and smart tabs fixed my issues. If anything I need to spend that money on cosmetics. My baby doesn't shine anymore it really needs a few hours under the buffer.

Ok spent the evening in circles working on figuring out the electrical on the boat. Well after a good bit of time with the multiple meter checking voltage and wires I have concluded the feed from engine to the dash feeding the main breaker panel has a bad power lead.

I know what you are thinking easy. Well I did not have any 10ga long enough in the shop so had to go all over town to find wire that was a chore. Either they did not have 10ga or they had 8' too short or a $50 500' spool that I did not need. By the time I got home I had 30 min to get the harness under the dash separated and prepped to pull new wires.

I spent well over an hour looking at the wiring diagrams. Man the over complicated the piss out of the harness on this boat for no reason. And why the hell does a feed wire change color 4 times along the run. Also all of the wires are loomed and black so it's hard to trace. So accessory leaves master switch that is fed by battery, and goes to the 50a fuse, then 12.5a breaker to the computer and a relAy that is triggered by the ignition. The big fat 2ga power feeds the starter that feeds assist solenoid that goes to a 60a breaker to the 10 way connect to a wire to 20a reset fuse in dash to the ignition. BUT somewhere between the connector at the engine and the ignition switch the power makes a split that goes to the accessory fuse panel, and this is not on any of the diagrams as to boat location lol. 2 master manuals and now I am hunting a split somewhere between the computer and the key. Joy. As that wire is bad. Because I have 12v up to the assist solenoid..

Yea it took a bit of time but so far I'm $20 into wire and some spade crimps.

Today I have to go get some paperwork finished up for my boat.

I am also planning what I need to do on the boat this weekend.
1. Attempt to fix "static" in stereo. It appears to be a bad connection or connections at the amplifier.
2. Boat Ride!

Yep, Sac Delta is the Sacramento & San Joaquin river delta, east of San Francisco. We seem to end up doing a lot of our playing near the tastily named Bacon Island. I haven't seen any sign of bacon there, though :( .

A buddy of mine has a floating cabin at Hog Island up there - very cool waterways!
