I doubt that 4.3 even with one person and 2 gallons of fuel could get that boat to low 60s never mind 56. I will believe it when you post a picture of your GPS. I find it very hard to believe.
even if you pitched the crap out of it it wouldnt get that high

Here's the 195 bowrider (same hull) with a 4.3GXi. 63 with a 21 pitch (I run 23, same ratio). 56 was GPS on my Note II.

195LX 4.3GL, 56mph per test results, EXACTLY what I got.

Stingray's are the fastest pleasure boats on the lake. Even the 3.0 bowriders do high 40s low 50s. Downside? Ride like shit.

Ric that 258 is gorgeous! I can't imagine why they would want to sell her? It looks like someone really took good care of her. Of course boats always look better in pictures, but I don't see what could put that 258 in the same class as that beat-up Chaparral (did you see the discoloration on the top of the drivers seat?)

Whatever you choose, good luck!

I've walked around the 258 its 5 min from my house. Its 8 out of 10 plus the bonus of a DP 8.1 repower. They told me 17 can have it, maybe even less if I bring cash. My buddy knows the owner he told me to wave 11 and he might take it. Its the boat shop owners boat he moved on to another. The boat he probably got cheap and the engine for nothing and had his employees do it all. I love it but its 25ft! I cant use that on a 600 acre lake. Wouldn't be any fun... maybe? All we do is float out in the center and party anyways. It takes no more then 6in more water then my current boat. Thats fine depth wise.

Hmmmm. Ill double check with the hoa.

Just saw the chap. Loved it. We had 4 ppl in the cabin sitting comfortable, could sit 5. No ducking or anything. Bigger than a new FW s265. Outside layout is better in person than pics. Nice seating. Has binini, covers, camper canvas. Only a few pieces of vinyl are faded. Sucks its a 220hp v8 but they are willing to deal. 13 cash takes it.

Glad the SmartTabs worked for you! They made a world of difference on my Baja (another speed over comfort hull design). Haven't needed them on my FW, but I think they're a fantastic product for the right application.

Good luck with the prospective buyer!
