Yes, well it's going to cost some of us more than others. Don't get me wrong, but I'm always a bit amused when there's so much complaining from the percentage of the population that really isn't going to be taking much of a hit for it (not in tax bills anyway). This is the price we pay for the trappings of community around us.

Went to BW in Carle Place NY yesterday and there were no great deals yet. I was one of those people just wandering around getting ideas for if and when they hit 40%-50%. Had another great line from my kindergartner though. My son asked why we were going there and what we needed so I told him that we were just looking to save money but didn't really need anything. My daughter chimes in that we don't really "need" the boat anyway! My gut instinct was to freak out, but then I remembered doing homework with her about "wants" versus "needs!" At least she is learning at school!

Steve - I think the closest one is on 3040 (Round Grove Road) in Lewisville, just before business 121 and the Wally World. May be the only one in the N. Texas area. I got my bow boat buckle from Trout Pro Shops in Grapevine, so you know I paid full price.

I stopped at the BW close to work during my lunch today. The store looks as full of merchandise as it did last summer. A variety of discounts, some good , some not so special. I did buy some Buff Magic for 30% off. Maybe if they increase the discount more in the next few weeks, they will start to sell more. At this rate, they won't liquidate much of their inventory.

I made a real quick visit today. FULL retail price stuffed marked down 20-50% (majority was 20%). I did score 2 of the bright orange, watertight, Plano brand dry boxes. They were 30% off and a pretty decent deal at that. Other than that...nothing out of this world.

Stopped in and picked up a few more items at BW. A week from tomorrow they shut the doors at mine. Apparently, they are closing them in stages. They will truck out the remaining inventory to bigger stores. Mark downs are at 25-50% starting this past Thursday. Too bad there's not going to be any better deals than that as most stuff is only 25%
