How do bimini tops go? Do you get what you pay for? Also, is there like a "Four Winns" accessory website? I would like to get ideas of what I can purchase for future mods and swim decks and stuff. There's that space in the passenger dash that's begging for something it looks so empty, not quite sure what to put there yet. I'm thinking TV? I wouldn't know how to rain proof it.

If you're a bargain hunter you're not going to want to buy on the Four Winns website, but here's the link:

http://www.fourwinns.com/gear/accessories

If you find something you like call Winnisquam Marine here in NH and they'll give you the best price even with shipping.

A bimini's going to run you around $250 (on average), but if you search real hard you might be able to find something cheaper. I bought one for a boat I had a few years ago that a dealer got me that was made in Canada. It was real nice quality, but it didn't fold down very easy for trailering. I think I paid $180 installed.

You got a real steal there. I had a 1996 QX Horizon and paid $6000 in 2008. Enjoy and don't hesitate to ask questions. There's some very smart people on this forum that can answer just about anything.

I'm jealous.

That boat is worth, as it sits, with the rotted trailer and all, $5000 easy. Clean it up, get it running good, and it should be worth $6000 or more. Get a better trailer for cheap and it could bring even more.

Unbelievable deal. Go buy a lotto ticket. Hit up the casinos. You've obviously done something right.

Spent a few hours cleaning it up. Ran out of daylight to high speed buff it. The previous owner has to get the titles/key out of a lock box and won't have it for me until tomorrow. Oh well, I can wait a day to start it. And the drain plug is missing, so gotta get one of those. Cleaned up nice. I don't think I'll put the carpet back in. Best $1600 I've ever spent.

Looks great bro!! Some Boat-Life, Star-Brite, ect., mildew remover will clean those grab-handles up like new. You take off the speedo pick-up??

Whats' got ya so spooked about the trailer??? From afar, it's looks to be ok.....Let's see pics of the problems. I'd replace the missing guide-board tho, you hit that, it's gonna leave a mark................

Oh awesome! I had no idea how to clean them. Do you have a link or image of the stuff so I can pick it up tomorrow?

Nope, the speedo is missing :(

And that trailer really is in bad shape. Why anyone would buy a painted trailer in Florida is beyond me. But, for what you paid for the boat, you could buy 2 new trailers and still be ahead of the game. Nice job!

That really cleaned up nice. The interior layout looks identical to my '98.

Just curious on what you used to clean the floors? They look brand new.

Reminds me of an episode of American Pickers. Except you won't be in any hurry to re-sell the boat.

This bimini is for a 2007 H180, not sure if it's the same as yours exactly.

Everything cleaned up nicely with Lysol mildew remover with bleach bathroom spray and a scotch brite pad (I know). Right after that I re-washed the whole boat with a quality car wash soap with a built in wax to remove any leftovers of the bleach from the spray to avoid any damage to the fabrics.

The downside of that process which I was dreading? I have about 2 hours of buffing in the boat last night and have at least 3hr more to go to restore the gloss. The upside? The boat is in 9.9/10 condition after it's polished. The pads actually "wetsanded" the finish to a perfectly smooth satin finish and removed any surface defects the weathering caused and with a little elbow grease it's glossing like a mirror.

The lady found the binini top and battery too, I'm picking that up today along with the keys and paperworks. The other snap in covers washed very nicely, but there's some torn areas around buttons I got to resew.

I have not touched the carpet yet, it's very mildewed but no visible damage. That's going to take work. The boat is going to sit outside in my uncovered slip so I may just leave it out and store it after it's cleaned.

As far as drain plugs go, what does it take? It looks threaded. I need to get one today dunno what to buy. To be honest, it might be in the glove box. There's a ton of stuff in there...tools, flares, etc didn't even look.

Not sure if you are near a West Marine, but they carry them. Get the one with the pin so you can use your fingers to twist it off. No pin through it and you will need pliers.

I work about 300yds from a West Marine. I hate going there, sooo expensive compared to other retailers. It should be illegal.

Ric - do a search on the forums here. The VDO gauges had some issues. I know you have not had the key or battery yet to check anything, but in case they are not running when you do.

Also, stern drive fluid should be changed with the oil, fuel and fuel filter, and maybe power steering fluid and the belts might be worn. All of these are DIY maintenance items and not too pricey.

I think it's the clustered VDO gauges had the issues (auto style), where you needed to replace the entire unit. If one of the gauges is not working, it should be easier to replace.

ric - I still can't believe you're only in $1,600 on this deal, plus elbow grease. Great deal.

I ordered the following bimini from GMI Top Design

Length: 6 feet
Height: 40 '' to 46''
Width: 85 '' to 90 ''

Sunbrella Captain Navy #6046
1 adj support pole (pair)
1 SS hardware upgrade
2 quick release hinge
