I wondered about that red one. No Monterey lettering on the sides, no model sticker, etc. Somethin' fishy about that one.

I hope the black one is a better boat. AND that you actually get to see it. Good Luck !

It sounded fishy but it's better to look plus I got to see my dad. Anyways, every month that passes buy I set aside 1k to the boat buying fund.

I have no idea why people list boats if they are not going to answer their phones or email requests for information. I located another 2006 PowerQuest that I would like to look at. However, I cannot get a hold of the owner. The boat is located just outside of Pittsburgh and as luck would have it, I'm going to Pittsburgh Monday for work.

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2006- ... 260-334114

It has the same color scheme and layout in the interior as the 240 I was looking at, with the exception it appears to have a nice passthrough on the port side, which is really nice to save the vinyl. However, the add doesn't mention anything about the hours, where/how it was stored, etc. It looks great in the pics, but they were taken in 2011. The 260 is more boat then I was really looknig for, but for the right price, it may be a worthy investment to avoid looking at 26-28 footers two years from now. With a boat this size, I can see myself actually traveling a little further up and down the west coast of Lake Michigan.

Don't worry. Be patient. We went 10 months boatless and bought three in a couple of weeks. One is 98% done and just about ready for the Big Baja to go out.

Well my father is going to knock on the door of the listed # for the black boat right now. We'll see what happens. If that falls through it's going to be a LONG wait I think.

Maybe? The GF wants me to get a Vista over a cuddy. She's like you're just going to want one in a year anyways plus we could utilize it so much more then a cuddy for only a few grand more.

This summer sucks without a boat and I was thinking about it all night.. I don't want a Vista yet. I put an offer in for 18k out the door for the 2004 FW, and that I need a written gaurentee from the dealership that if I don't receive the title in 60 days I get a full refund and I return the boat.

This one is far from home but would be nice with 5.7

If you got the right price you could have it shipped.

I didn't think I wanted to go as big as the vista either, we were looking for a cuddy. But I tell ya now that we have it I could never go back... I only draw 28" leg down, can cruise at 38mph with the 5.8L, handles rough water no problem, have had 12 people on her and it was tight but easily do-able. When it's just me and the wife our bed is always made up without dropping the table or moving crap around and when we end up out with friends having a few drinks no one has to drive home. The full camper canvas is awesome, we've spent rain days out on the water putting around in 4' swells keeping dry and warm...

The 238 vista seems like a much bigger boat than it is and in my opinion has the best overall lay out in the 24' class. we are land locked here in Alberta and I keep her on a lake that only measures 15 miles x 2 miles with an average depth of 30'.

Now that said after only 3 seasons with the 238 we've begun to suffer from 2-foot-itis and I refuse to upgrade unless it's an UPGRADE... we're currently considering a 99 278 vista but have looked and will most likely end up with one in the 32-38' range...

Ric,
Have you posted any "Wanted Ads" for what you are looking for with a price range for the right vessel?. Often this can draw attention from current owners who are pondering the sale of their boat, but find it easier to trade it in at the dealer. Worked for me a few times.

Another "candidate" for shipping down to Florida. You would not even have to change the name.....

After shipping, and a plane flight for you to check it out, you would still be well under budget, plus the
advantage of buying a freshwater boat.

Cool! Older then what I want but it's pretty decked out I love the U seats. I'll have to see if there's any local. Remember I'm nearly 6'2 so I need to see it first to see if I fit in the cuddy

I have been on a 232 before, you and your gal should fit in the cuddy just fine.
