I know the thread has taken an entirely different direction, but back to the OP's post, here in Norman, OK it is actually difficult to find ethanol gas, I have 7-8 gas stations within 5 miles of my home and only 1 has it (7-elevens all have it, but are starting to transition to carrying both), and I'm not sure about the one Marina on Thunderbird Lake that provides gas, but the two closest fuel stops are non-ethanol too, and are within a few miles of the lake, so I am set for the boat too...

Any disparity between the real gas and the ethanol gas prices yet? It will probably take a while for the lack of ethanol subsidies to kick in. Thanks.

No, there has been more non-ethanol stores here for as long as I remember and there is the same 9-15 cents difference (ethanol being cheaper) that has been the norm, I am also interested to see what the prices end up at since the subsidies are ending...

My prediction: gas will go to $4.25 in a few months (driven by Iran, world demand, and speculators, mostly). Administration will use that as an "I told you so" for the glories of ethanol and why we should all have windmills on our roofs. Yet another round of bickering between the two major parties will ensue, and the real root cause of the issue will never be mentioned by either side. One side because of their political motivations, and the other side because they're filled with spineless idiots with no balls at the moment. And no, Ron Paul isn't the answer either. Say it with me: "We are screwed."

It's time for the second American Revolution. Our elected officials no longer represent us. I feel that any major decision should be put up to a national referendum and let the people vote. Do you want biofuels mandated, vote yea or nay. No more special interests bullsh!t....
We have given bureaucrats way too much power, they are far too ignorant to have that much power, and bad things happen then. Like dangerous first gen airbags, and MBTE in the gas as a mandated oxygenate, which was then found to be a carcinogen and gets into the groundwater. Sad irony that those wanting to protect the environment pushed this and look what happens when you don't have brains and science to make the decision.

I remember working for a company between my college stints back in the early to mid 80's that sold 4' x 8' solar panels which we installed on roofs of unsuspecting souls who bought into the "green" BS. Needless to say, that company went out of business once the complaints starting pouring in (no pun intended). Why don't they just develop safe nuclear power and be done with it. Anyone been following this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_Catalyzer. Probably a snake oil salesman but it would be nice and it will happen sooner than you think.
