I know there are alot of ocean guys that see this frequently, but it does not happen very often in the summer on Lake Michigan. 10-14 footers... Looks like I may do some maintenance this weekend..

Yeah, we are in petosky marina, the boatis bouncing all over the place. Most everyone is double lined. Crazy! On top of it we have gotten between 5 and 6 inches of rain at home! I hope my sump pump holds out.

Sunday is our travel day to traverse city, then trailer home Monday.

Fingers crossed!

Now it's over 11 feet!

I'm glad I decided to move the boat from Traverse to Charlevoix(where the trailer is) last Saturday. The weather has sucked ever since.

We went from clinch (traverse city) on Monday around 10:30am to Charlevoix, it was fine until we cleared the Lelanau peninsula, then it was 3-4's with the roug mixed in. They were hitting us starboard. I was really happy to be in round lake! I'll take another week off from work to not do that again.

I did that trip last Saturday and had the same conditions. Mostly 2-3 footers with some 5-6 footers that come out of nowhere. Seems to always be the worst right at the mouth of the bay.
I learned that I need to bungee my anchor down along with my toilet lid.

That is unusual even in this area, LI Sound at times has had 8-9 ft waves, but only during a tropical storm or hurricane conditions.....Last year during TS Irene we had winds of 55-60 mph on the Sound and the highest waves I recall being recorded were 9 ft. Tides here were about 5 feet above normal. The lifeguard chair at the beach behind my house (which normally is about 20 yards from the high tide mark) had about 4' of water around it..
