Post subject: | I want a windlass |
All summer long I have to make a bunch of kids sitting in the bow area of my SL 262 move so I can pull out the anchor from the front anchor locker. To do it I have to open the hatch and move the forward swim ladder out of the way first. I have had enough. My 2009 SL262 has a big front anchor locker and a front platform. I have NEVER used the front ladder and probably never will. So here is the question. Anyone ever install a windlass on a 262 (or a H260 or H310)?? Can it be done?? Where is the best place to have it done in the Northeast? Thanks in advance for input. |

I feel your pain. I will never beach the boat, and I will never use the front ladder. Give me a windlass please. |

I installed my own, not hard to do. You just need the room on the bow! BUT remember, you will STILL need to go to the bow. You chould be using a chain keeper anyways. The last thing you need as for the anchor to come loose. After the anchor is out, on a very claim day the windlass can take the load. Other than that, you must cleat off the line. So windlass or not, you stll need to go to the bow. I won't have a boat with out one now! |
