How does the cover of the deck scupper drain come off? It is screwed down by four screws but when the screws are removed, it does not readily come off. Should it be simply forced or pried off, or does it thread on the assembly and needs to be rotated or something. I am trying to get to the "ping pong" ball inside the assembly. Thanks |

My 1999 Sundowner had these; the cover should just pull off after the 4 screws are removed; the base will only move a little bit, it's retrained by the drain hose. |

Does the drain base assembly lift out enough to be able to squeeze a small hose through to the rear of the sponson to suck out trapped water? Thanks |

I really don't remember; when they were fitted, there must have been enough clearance/ excess hose to allow one of the hose clamps to be fitted before the scupper or outlet were screwed down. With age, the hose might have hardened, making it more difficult to manipulate it |
