| Post subject: | Bilge won't turn off,help! |
Just got out of the boat and the bilge pump won't turn off. Tried the switch obviously and popped the bilge off the base but nothing. It stays on when I turn the battery off and all I can think to do to save the battery is unplug it but I hate to. ANY fast suggestions???? Float stuck possibly? |

Sounds like your float switch is stuck on (assuming you have one). Maybe some debris stuck in it? |

Float switch is stuck for sure. I've had it happen to me too. Tap the switch, not the bilge pump |

Pulled the pump and switch. The switch was fine but there was some kind of seaweed/hair/cricket nest in the pump. Picked it out and blew the lines out, nothing like practically French kissing the bilge hole early in the morning. Back up and running but I can't look the boat in the eyes right now. |
