Since I'm adding some additional batteries it occurs to me it might be worthwhile to consider adding an inverter. About the only times I run the generator are to brew coffee and make frozen margaritas. There are a few nights where I'd run it for the air conditioning, but not many.

So I'm wondering if anyone else here has integrated an inverter with their existing AC system?

Right now I have a pair of linked switches inside the cabin that allows changing from genset to shore power. When I switch off one side it automatically turns on the other. And back in a transom locker I have a pair of breakers controlling the shore power. I'm thinking of setting up a similar sort of switching arrangement back in the transom locker to allow switching the AC from shore to onboard inverter. I'd only do it for one AC circuit as I know the AC would draw WAY too much current.

Hmmm, but then I suppose I'd also need to make sure the onboard AC charger doesn't kick in thinking it's on shore power. Hmmm...

Ok, anyone have ideas or suggestions?
