What battery setting is correct for a 268 vista, when you at anchor for the day or weekend. This weekend is the first time I have stayed over night on the boat. I have 3 batteries total.

I believe your battery switch is the same as my previous boat, a 248 Vista. If so, you have 3 settings, #1, both, and #2 on your switch. You have 3 batteries so I'm pretty sure you have a starting battery and 2 systems batteries. You just need to figure out which setting, #1 or #2, your 2 system batteries are connected to on the battery switch of your boat.

When anchoring out you want to only use your systems batteries for running your fridge, stereo, lights, etc, and you do this by setting the battery switch, typically #2 setting, so as to just use the 2 system batteries. This prevents your starting battery, typically #1 setting, from draining down, meaning you can always start your boat.

You don't want to use the "both" setting, as this draws from all three batteries you have and if they all go dead, your stuck. On my 248, with two good systems batteries, running the fridge, and just running the lights only when needed, I would get two days and two nights on the hook before they started dying out.

On our 04 268 you could actually leave the batteries off when achored for the weekend, there was only a breaker near the battery switch that needed to be on, that breaker was tied directlly to the house battery, when it was dead (about 20hrs with normal use) you just switched to #1 and fired up the engine.
